We loved staying at this apartment for our week in Gettysburg! It is clean, well stocked, is exactly as the pics on this site show, and Sam was great help to us. He arranged for an incredible battlefield guide (Gary) and gave us really good insight into a side trip to Washington, D.C. We were able to cook a great spaghetti dinner in the apartment kitchen, pack it up, and head to see a beautiful sunset from Little Round Top as we ate. There were only two of us on this trip and the apartment doesn't feel too large for that size group but it would also be great for a group of six. We will definitely return to not only Gettysburg but to this apartment with additional family members!
Be sure to check out The Horse Soldier for incredible Civil War artifacts, most of which are for sale, and the basement tavern at the Dobbin House (Springhouse Tavern) for great atmosphere and wonderful French Onion Soup. The Jennie Wade house is great to tour and of course, don't miss the Gettysburg National Cemetery where so many of the Union dead are buried. The Visitor Center is a great first stop and the 3 CD audio tour with map booklet is really interesting, detailing specific things that happened during the battle as you drive through the battlefield area, stopping at specific points.
