Perfect Home Away From Home!

5 of 5
We loved staying at this apartment for our week in Gettysburg! It is clean, well stocked, is exactly as the pics on this site show, and Sam was great help to us. He arranged for an incredible battlefield guide (Gary) and gave us really good insight into a side trip to Washington, D.C. We were able to cook a great spaghetti dinner in the apartment kitchen, pack it up, and head to see a beautiful sunset from Little Round Top as we ate. There were only two of us on this trip and the apartment doesn't feel too large for that size group but it would also be great for a group of six. We will definitely return to not only Gettysburg but to this apartment with additional family members! Be sure to check out The Horse Soldier for incredible Civil War artifacts, most of which are for sale, and the basement tavern at the Dobbin House (Springhouse Tavern) for great atmosphere and wonderful French Onion Soup. The Jennie Wade house is great to tour and of course, don't miss the Gettysburg National Cemetery where so many of the Union dead are buried. The Visitor Center is a great first stop and the 3 CD audio tour with map booklet is really interesting, detailing specific things that happened during the battle as you drive through the battlefield area, stopping at specific points.

Perfect Weekend Getaway

5 of 5
I stayed at this apartment with three of my friends for a mini-college reunion (we pick somewhere different each summer). It was a nice size for us four adults. The apartment is tidy, clean, and exactly as it is pictured. It is in a very nice, quiet neighborhood, close to a grocery store and drugstores in case you need anything. It was a short drive into the city- we enjoyed sightseeing in Pittsburgh and had a great time there. The amenities in the apartment were convenient- it was so nice to have a place with a kitchen- one of my friends was very happy with the stocked Keurig machine. We enjoyed the comfortable beds and the large flat-screen TVs when we weren't out on the town. Thank you so much for a great stay!

What a blessing!

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Hideaway. So quaint and beautiful. We were greeted by the sweetest dog named Cooper and the grand landscaping of the back yard. So very peaceful and relaxing as we enjoyed sitting in the gazebo. And the clip clop of the Amish buggy's driving by was pure joy. I would highly recommend staying off the beaten path at the Hideaway. My husband and I plan on returning at Christmas time.
