Michael (the owner) was wonderful throughout our stay - confirming reservation/plans, preparing for our arrival, promptly responding to email inquiries. The home was everything we wanted and more. It's set in a wooded neighborhood and on a sizable property with a creek running through the front/back yard. We spent as much time as we could just lounging on the front porch observing the tranquil surrounds. The home itself was very well-maintained with a spacious kitchen furnished with every cooking need we encountered. Bedrooms were comfortable, nicely lit, and decorated exactly as a home-owner might keep them. My wife thought the bed was a little too soft but I slept fine. We traveled with two children (2y, 2m), and the home was fairly well equipped with a high chair, pack-and-play, and lots of outdoor toys. The main stairs don't have child guards, which required a little extra vigilance to ensure our son's safety. Still, he loved it, we loved it, and we're already planning our next trip back!
Some things we really enjoyed: Palmerton's main park playground, large pool, local ice cream shop (Claude's), and breakfast at Bert's; Blueberry picking at Spring Mountain Farm (on 209 near airport); watching airport activity on Saturday morning; railroad @ Jim Thorpe; Mauch Chunk Lake Park beach. We stayed at Michael's in the summer but I imagine any time of year would be wonderful.
If there's availability here, book it now! You won't be disappointed.
