We were in the Stroudsburg area so my 9 year old daughter could attend camp at the International Gymnastics Camp, in Bartonsville, about 30 minutes away. My 11 year old daughter came with me while her younger sister was at camp. It was exactly as described and very cozy. As I am from Northern Wisconsin, I am all too familiar with what outdoor living can be like in the summer. Bugs, yes. Intrusive, no. Not by any stretch of the imagination. My daughter spent time at night trying to catch the lightening bugs (to no avail!) and we never had a situation in the cabin where we felt we were uncomfortable with bugs that may live in the Pennsylvania forest. The beds were comfy and we were able to use our ipads on the rainy days so the wifi was awesome.
This is NOT a resort and makes no claim as such. The is a back woods cabin, remote and away from the hustle and bustle of any town. Stroudsburg was close enough for anything we needed, but you never felt like you were in any town. Which may not be for everyone, but for us (we have rented 8 places on VRBO from Wisconsin, to Hawaii) it was exactly what we expected.
We will be back next summer when my daughter comes to camp again and next time the wife is coming so she can enjoy the natural beauty this cabin and the Poconos offer!
