Friend Retreat

5 of 5
This was our third stay at this amazing place! This time we brought a couple friends and our dogs. Weather wasn't the greatest but it was so great to share that place and reset.

THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH FOR SHARING YOUR BEAUTIFUL COTTAGE WITH US. Jeff and I will definitely remember our stay for years to come. We enjoyed the Pina coLADA zucchini bread. We visited many of your wonderful state parks and Johnstown Flood National Memorial. Then to come back to the cottage and relax in the hot tub. We hope to visit again. Thank you again.

Lovely, well-furnished, relaxing getaway spot.

We stayed for Columbus Day weekend 2013 and had a wonderful time at this rental. The kitchen was well appointed (although a couple of cooking vessels were a bit worn)... enough to make 4 nights worth of terrific meals. Very nice grill and fire pit on the property. The bedrooms are very large and well-furnished. There is a LOT of patio space. There is a patio behind the house, a nice front porch, and a balcony off the master bedroom with a great view of the river. There is access to the river on the property and it is very quiet. Even though there are neighbors relatively close they were very friendly and helped to point out area attractions. The owners were also very friendly and kept the property very clean and made sure we were provided with towels and other necessities. One wonderful feature of this property is that it is located along the Allegheny River Trail which is beautiful for walking or cycling. A few miles down the trail is an old train tunnel that has been paved and made a part of the trail, so you can literally cycle through a hill in an old train tunnel. A little creepy but fun. I recommend bringing a flashlight or LED lamp for wearing on the head if you want to adventure through the tunnel. All in all the five of us had a terrific time. I would recommend this property to anyone who would like a relaxing getaway near to fishing, rowing/canoeing, cycling, or just away from urban bustle would enjoy their time spent here.
