A peaceful and wonderful place to relax!

5 of 5
My neighbors and I made this trip from Florida with our 3 dogs. I have never rented a cabin so I was unsure what to expect. The owners have thought of everything! It was clean and well maintained. I had walked past this cabin previously on the Allegheny Bike Trail so I was familiar with the area. It takes about 15 minutes to get up the mountain to the stores so you are well away from "city noises". We did not see the Bald Eagles while we were there but we did hear them several times. There is an abundance of wildlife out and about on a daily basis. The trail is great for short walks or long ones. If you decide to brave one of the 2 tunnels (each is close to a mile long) you will need a flashlight. There are many places to visit within a few hours drive. The Grove City Outlet Mall, Drake Well (where the first oil well was drilled, is in Titusville) are both about an hour away. Kinzua Bridge Outlook is a bit longer drive but well worth the visit. If you are willing to drive farther, my neighbors visited Elk County and saw the free roaming elk at the visitors center. Another nice day trip is to Findley Lake, NY. There are several local stores that have a lot of nice nick knacks and gifts at very reasonable prices and there is a great wine shop called Wonderments. About 45 minutes north of Findley Lake is Barcelona Harbor, NY (Westfield) on Lake Erie where there is excellent sea glass hunting. With all of the nature and historical places to visit as well as shopping areas in this beautiful part of the country, this cabin is in a perfect area central to so much. I am hoping to stay again sometime. It is definitely a little slice of heaven!

Relaxing Getaway

5 of 5
Cabin was just what we were looking for. Was so clean and comfortable. We needed nothing during our stay at the cabin as it was equipped with about anything you'd need. So tastefully decorated too. Grilled steaks one evening on grill and had great dinner at nearby restaurant called ChestQuehanna our last evening there. Two quiet, relaxing afternoons fishing at Curwensville Lake. Area is absolutely beautiful in October for sightseeing as driving nearby scenic roadways. Hope to get back next year. The cabin was delightful!

Lovely, well-furnished, relaxing getaway spot.

We stayed for Columbus Day weekend 2013 and had a wonderful time at this rental. The kitchen was well appointed (although a couple of cooking vessels were a bit worn)... enough to make 4 nights worth of terrific meals. Very nice grill and fire pit on the property. The bedrooms are very large and well-furnished. There is a LOT of patio space. There is a patio behind the house, a nice front porch, and a balcony off the master bedroom with a great view of the river. There is access to the river on the property and it is very quiet. Even though there are neighbors relatively close they were very friendly and helped to point out area attractions. The owners were also very friendly and kept the property very clean and made sure we were provided with towels and other necessities. One wonderful feature of this property is that it is located along the Allegheny River Trail which is beautiful for walking or cycling. A few miles down the trail is an old train tunnel that has been paved and made a part of the trail, so you can literally cycle through a hill in an old train tunnel. A little creepy but fun. I recommend bringing a flashlight or LED lamp for wearing on the head if you want to adventure through the tunnel. All in all the five of us had a terrific time. I would recommend this property to anyone who would like a relaxing getaway near to fishing, rowing/canoeing, cycling, or just away from urban bustle would enjoy their time spent here.
