            Great Vacation!

            5 of 5
We had a wonderful stay at Riverwatch! The property was just as described. The bike trail is fantastic and the tunnels are creepy but fun! The location is beautiful, quiet & relaxing. Wildlife is all around you from the deer bounding down the bike trail, the eagles in the trees, to the resident woodchuck who peeked in the patio doors! Even our dogs had a great time. A beautiful place to relax & unwind. Heidi & Bob VanOs

            girls getaway

This is the perfect get away place for some peace, quiet and beauty. The home was immaculate. It was probably the cleanest rental home I have ever been in. It has been completely updated and has everything you could want. The owners were wonderful and went out of their way to accommodate our requests. We didn't want to leave. The setting is just gorgeous and listening to the river is so relaxing. If I had more vacation time I'd go back tomorrow! Went to visit Curwensville Lake area and that was beautiful too with opportunities to boat or swim or picnic. Everyone was so friendly, even got invited to stay for a church picnic! If you are looking for the big city or fancy restaurants or the hustle and bustle then this is not the place for you. This is simplicity and natural beauty at it's best.

            Lovely, well-furnished, relaxing getaway spot.

We stayed for Columbus Day weekend 2013 and had a wonderful time at this rental. The kitchen was well appointed (although a couple of cooking vessels were a bit worn)... enough to make 4 nights worth of terrific meals. Very nice grill and fire pit on the property. The bedrooms are very large and well-furnished. There is a LOT of patio space. There is a patio behind the house, a nice front porch, and a balcony off the master bedroom with a great view of the river. There is access to the river on the property and it is very quiet. Even though there are neighbors relatively close they were very friendly and helped to point out area attractions. The owners were also very friendly and kept the property very clean and made sure we were provided with towels and other necessities. One wonderful feature of this property is that it is located along the Allegheny River Trail which is beautiful for walking or cycling. A few miles down the trail is an old train tunnel that has been paved and made a part of the trail, so you can literally cycle through a hill in an old train tunnel. A little creepy but fun. I recommend bringing a flashlight or LED lamp for wearing on the head if you want to adventure through the tunnel. All in all the five of us had a terrific time. I would recommend this property to anyone who would like a relaxing getaway near to fishing, rowing/canoeing, cycling, or just away from urban bustle would enjoy their time spent here.
