FAMILY VACATION 2014

5 of 5
Our semi-annual Family Vacation was held here this year, and it was superb. All conditions and amenities were 1st rate. Clean. Beautiful. Beautiful views. Much to do in the area - even Baltimore Harbor was not too far away. But days spent on the property and in the area were entertaining and restful. Return to quiet & simple values and entertainment. But far from rustic, even though an historic 1840 property. Also, I don't want to limit it to the above - there was plenty more to do and see in the area that we did not get to. It is just that these were the things we looked forward to doing, and which we pleasantly found there. And, the owners were so nice and thoughtful, and concerned with our enjoyment. Can't say enough. All in all, a great time was had by all, children and adults. Richard Albert & Family Massapequa Park, New York

A relaxing getaway for the crazy cat ladies

5 of 5
Our second stay this summer was so enjoyable we cant wait to return. We also had an opportunity to meet Cheryl and Dale and we look forward to seeing our new friends for our next visit. The cottage is just precious and decorated beautifully, my daughter especially loves the swinging bed on the porch where we spent most of our time. Part of the fun of staying in Gretna is socializing with all the neighbors who own cottages there everyone is just so friendly. Dont pass up an opportunity to stay here it doesnt disappoint.

Excellent, enchanting, comfortable, great location

5 of 5
Our first visit to the States was for my son's wedding to a lovely girl from Lancaster. We had a few enjoyable days in New York. We arrived late, but Debbie was still there with a wonderful welcome. We were all weary, sore footed and in need of sleep. We soon fell asleep in the amazing comfortable beds. This place is a little oasis in a wonderful town. In the morning we enjoyed their excellent range of coffee in a beautiful garden and watched the squirrels. It took 5minutes to get our car park pass for a week. We had such an amazing week exploring the wonderful countryside and meeting our new American family. On our last night we invited them all around to Symphony house and they all loved the charm and character. It takes 5 minutes walk to be in the centre of Lancaster. The market is brilliant. The Amish farms produce the most delicious fruits and vegetables. Try their freshly squeezed blueberry juice. I have to say the extensive library at Symphony house is incredible, some of the books I have read but the rest I want to. When we left we booked a night the newly weds for their honeymoon. As an English visitor I found this place unique and full of character. Can't wait to be back.
