Tranquility!!!!

5 of 5
Let me begin by saying how clean and organized this home was. As soon as we walked in it felt so welcoming. The fact they took the time to put small details into it impressed me. The on suite bath tub was set up with a candle, wine glass, wash cloth ,lavender soap and a book :) that was were I spent most of my nights..My boyfriend spent his time in the jet/sauna shower. Just too say I bring my own towels and sheets when I go away. But this place had quality sheets and towels. The bed was AMAZING I haven't had a good night sleep like that in so long. They are also pet friendly with a variety of beds for your pet and dog bowls. The open space in the back was a plus my dog had so much fun. Due to the weather we didn't have the opportunity to use the hot tube :( but hope to visit again in the spring/summer. The owners were pleasant and were always available if needed, Karen even sent me a list of local places to visit. I must say booking this place and communication with Karen was a breeze. Thank you so much Karen & Mike for a long over due peaceful three days :) I look forward to going back in the spring/summer.

Breathtaking views

5 of 5
First, let me say that Roger was the excellent host who went the extra mile to accommodate and make our stay as comfortable as possible. He exceeded our expectations in every possible way. The home was exactly as described. The pictures on the website, does not really capture the true beauty of its natural surroundings. The town is just 10 minutes away with everything you’ll need for your stay. We cool off at the riverbanks and visited other smaller towns throughout the area. Plus I highly recommend visiting the famous Wahoo Ice Cream shop only a 20 minute drive from the home. One our favorite time when we would sit outside the balcony early in the morning to have our coffee while watching the sunrise over the river. The icing on the cake was when we were visited by a family of deer’s on a daily basis and one visit of some wild turkeys (We have tons of pictures to prove it, even thou it was a challenge to take pictures of our daily visitors). Roger’s home is nicely furnished, cleaned and well maintained. He’s a phone a call away and he’s always making sure everything is going great. Thanks Roger for allowing us to enjoy our summer in your splendid home. Highly recommend it for families or friends looking for relaxation.

The Elk Roundhouse is Perfect for Large Groups

5 of 5
This property is nestled on over 40 acres of land that appears to have been a farm at one time. The house is very open and spacious, and the kitchen/dining/family area is gigantic. The owner and the caretaker provided excellent service, and even offered to provide a continental breakfast. There is also a Country Store just 1 mile from the house that has the necessities and hot food made to order. When we return again we will be there for a family reunion, kids and all. The wrap around deck is the perfect place to have an outside meal, and the kids can run around outside in the wide open space. There is a volley ball net, table tennis, and tetherball on the property. Nearby (within 5 minutes) there is the Panarama 18 hole golf course. Also 20 minutes south on 247 is a state park that is a real gem for nature hiking which also has a playground. There is a grocery store in Clifford that has a deli and bakery, and the people just couldn't be nicer. There are quite a few antique shops have been open all summer/fall, and a few will stay open through the winter in Carbondale, Lenoxville and the surrounding area. What is most wonderful about this property is the privacy and quiet. We just wanted to get away from it all. Each day we spotted white tail deer in the back yard, and wildlife on the drive. The scenery is absolutely gorgeous and the stars have never looked so brilliant at night. I needed to do some work on my laptop and was glad to know there was wireless internet access all through the house! The location of this property is on the outskirts of Forest City, PA. The best way to find it is to set your GPS for the intersection of PA-2027 and RT 247 (this is Dundaff Corners, where the Country Store is located at the blinking yellow lights), then 1.1 mile further at the bottom of the steep hill, turn into the first driveway on the left across from the mailboxes. I would not hesitate to recommend this property to a large family, group, church, or men's or women's group for a place to get away, have fun, and enjoy nature in rustic luxury.
