Enjoyable summer weekend on the lake

4 of 5
We had a great 2 night stay in this home near the lake. The house is really beautiful. We loved the look of the log home and it felt like a real mountain house. We were able to fit 2 mid-sized SUVs in the driveway. The house is across the street from the lake, so you can see the lake through the house and trees. There is public access to the lake in walking distance a few houses down to the right. The area is small but includes a dock, picnic table, fire pit and some chairs. The boat slip that comes with the house is a few minutes drive at the end of the community. There is a place to park and you have to walk down steps that are bit steep, but it is a nice place to just sit on the dock, fish and obviously if you have a boat.. They have a fire pit in the yard which we enjoyed at night. The loft and one of the 2 bedrooms have window unit ACs, however the bedroom one was a bit noisy. I got used to it the second night with earplugs, but I would recommend bringing a fan to cover up the noise. Also, bring a fan for the other bedroom without the AC in the summer because the ceiling fan did not work. Both bedrooms have doors with screens to the deck, so you can get air from there. The deck stretches all across the front of the house. There were chairs and it was a very relaxing place to sit and look at the lake. One of the twin beds in the loft was broken, but we informed the owner and it wasn't as issue for us because we only had one person sleeping up there. The place was clean, but we did bring our own comforters for the beds, which I would recommend. The downstairs has a TV with DVD player and a foosball table. The community is very cute and quiet. The houses are not that far apart but it still felt very private. There are plenty of boat rentals about 20 minutes away, so we went out on the lake one day on a boat. The grill was a good addition for an easy dinner prep, however we had to buy a grill brush because we could not find one in the house. There are grocery stores and restaurants about 15-20 minutes away. We booked this house on a Tuesday for that weekend's stay which was great. The owner was very quick with e-mailing me back. There was a mis-communication with getting the security deposit, but a quick phone call resolved that and I received the payment later that day. I would recommend this house. We were able to bring our dog, who loved it. It fit 5 adults very comfortably.

Everything we wanted!

5 of 5
We needed a place where our family of 5 could reconnect, and we found the perfect place! Clean and comfortable and close to the lake, this warm home provided us with all of the amenities we could ask for. The owners were very responsive and informative, and we were able to relax knowing that we didn't have to worry about anything. Out first trip to Lake Wallenpaupack and we certainly hope the first of many!

Location and view worth the price of admission!

5 of 5
Had a great time at this awesome Chalet on Lake Roaming Woods. There were six of us, 2 adults and 4 teens. The spot that this Chalet sits on the lake is ideal. Beautiful views and the sunsets were outstanding. Very peaceful and quiet, the perfect get away from the city. The Chalet was clean and very spacious, with lots of deck area. The hot tub and sauna added to the charm and made it very enjoyable. We took advantage of the amenities at the Hideout also. The main beach and pool area were nice, with a Tiki Bar, snack bar, tennis courts, etc.. The kids also enjoyed the friendly staff at the Arts and Crafts center. The wildlife was also pretty impressive. We saw plenty of deer, and an Eagle flew by the dock of the Chalet seemingly everyday at the same time, early evening. Communication with the owner was excellent. He was very accessible, friendly and answered all of our questions. We will be back.
