Wonderful house up in the hills!

5 of 5
Property was exactly how it looked in the pictures. Very clean and the kitchen was great with coffee grinders and blenders for morning smoothies. I cooked a great steak dinner on the grill and we had a hardy breakfast every morning. However, if you are a serious baker, there is only a toaster oven instead of a full oven, but it got the job done for our purposes. The water has a high iron content. I'm used to different varieties of well water, but this may catch the city slicker off guard. And there is incredible spring water to drink so don't worry about your coffee tasting weird. House has great ambiance with a wonderful fireplace and all the little games and bookshelves that make this place feel like home. Has squeeky floors which might bother some, but I thought it had character! House is about 40 minutes away from Blue Mountain where we skiied. We meant to go into Jim Thorpe which is less than 5 min away, but made it a lazy Sunday instead. The owner, Trudy, was wonderful and prompt in handling all my questions and concerns. I would highly recommend this place at $200+ a night so needless to say, I was a happy customer.

Fun time with family

4 of 5
Our family of four stayed at the Speakeasy over president's day weekend which was also Valentine day weekend. The house has clearly been loved by the owner and very clean. We walked in to a hand written note by Michael, you don't see that every day! There are clear notes and instructions everywhere. He has taken the time to think of everything you may need during your stay. Every time we thought, I wish we had ... we found it in the cupboards. the third floor obviously was a hit. In fact, we had a record cold day and we couldn't go skiing. We practically spent the whole day up on the third floor watching movies on Netflix or playing on the X-box. I particularly enjoyed reading about the history of the house. The one thing that we wish were different were the towels. We went to the nearby big lots and bought our own. Next time we would bring our own. Thank you Michael
