A Mini-Getaway

5 of 5
We arrived on a Monday for a mini-getaway while the kids were at summer camp. We wanted to be close by, but also have our own little spot removed. Stopped at Denny's Beer Barrel and Pub on the way in and had some burgers..very good! The covered bridge was so quaint a welcome and the tiny little drive to the group of cabins was so sweet! Felt like our own little cottage in the wood. I understand what you mean when you said before that you would have to appreciate the setting. I understand that you're going to have well water if you want a place not smack in the middle of civilization, and some well water has a sulfur smell..goes with the don't smell like that when you get out. If I wanted a Comfort Inn that's what I would have chosen. The cabin was more than adequate. There was Yahtzee and cards. We sat in the screen room and listened to the river. Had fires and watched movies. Made breakfast one morning. Very nice. I especially LOVED your tissue dispenser which I giggled at every time I was in the restroom. I took a picture for my friends at home. The couch is cozy and you don't want to get up once you're down! We stopped in Punxsy and visited Clarion. We enjoyed our little time away. The only things I could say were low points were the proximity to the road..the trucks would bring us back to reality when they went by, but otherwise the river babbled, birds chirped, fire crackled. And the bed was a little squeaky and rough. The lower mattress on the bunk bed was more comfy, I found. When we arrived there was a nest across from the doorway with baby birds and their momma never tired of feeding them. The second day she gave them a lesson in flapping their wings and one fly out and returned! The morning we were leaving they had flown the nest. Very neat to watch that take place. Got pictures of them of course. This cabin is a drive into the country and you may not want to leave when you get there, just settle in and get'll enjoy it.

Winter GetAway

5 of 5
Being at this cabin was so relaxing it was like you were actually at your own home. It had everything you could possible need at the cabin. Dubois and Clearfield being near by allowed you to step out and get a bite to eat if like to eat out. We were able to snowmobile right from the cabin how convenient. The fire at night just put you to sleep. Can not wait to go back.
