Thanksgiving Weekend 2014

5 of 5
We stayed in the Glass Gable (south) for the Thanksgiving Weekend with friends from Ohio. As we are from Long Island, NY it was a great half way point to meet. The house itself is beautiful. It is beautifully furnished, well stocked with all the necessary items we needed, and was even decorated inside and out for the holiday season. Even with seven people in the group, we had plenty of room for everyone and there is plenty of space to have privacy if needed. We had a small issue with the wifi that Diana responded to promptly and she was courteous and very welcoming allowing us to arrive early due to a snowstorm. We enjoyed the proximity to town, dining, shopping, and a local movie theater. Gettysburg was less than a half hour away and is a must see destination if your in the area. We all enjoyed our weekend very much and highly recommend Glass Gables to all.

Very Nice!

5 of 5
We just spent a long weekend at Meadowbrook Farm and enjoyed our stay very much. The house is nicely decorated and furnished. It has the charm and style expected of an old house but has the modern conveniences you would also expect and want in the kitchen and bathrooms. The bedrooms were all nicely done and the beds were cozy and comfortable. There is a washer/dryer in the upstairs bathroom which was great to have. Also, the backyard/patio is very nice and we enjoyed sitting out there taking in the country atmosphere and fall foliage. The owners left us a handwritten letter welcoming us to the house, as well as some fruit from a local orchard which was a nice touch. In addition, they provided a very detailed manual with instructions about the house, TVs, highlights/attractions in the area, restaurants, etc. which was very helpful and much appreciated. We were surprised to learn that there was limited access to live TV channels (I think we could access about 5 channels) due to, I believe, no cable/poor dish access for the area. Although we didn’t plan to watch TV all weekend, we did want to watch the baseball championship game which wasn’t on one of the channels available, so we were a bit disappointed at first. However, this quickly turned out to be a total non-issue. There is WiFi in the house and we were able to watch the baseball game live (and other sports events) that we couldn’t get on the house TVs by connecting to our service on our laptop. Also, to provide the best TV-viewing alternative, the owners have LG Smart TVs and we could access Hulu, Netflix, and many other online tv/video services along with the accessible live TV channels. So, when we wanted to watch TV, we were more than satisfied. We found the location of the house to be very suitable for us. Our main destination for this trip was Gettysburg which was only about a ½ hour drive. Carlisle is about 10 minutes or so away and was a charming town and had several good restaurants to choose from. All in all, the house is beautiful, inviting and well-maintained. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to others.

Lovely home, lovely owner

We love the Glass Gable! We have stayed there 3 years in a row and while we normally stay in the house, we found the apartment to be equally well equipped and cozy. The owner is very friendly and helpful. You can't go wrong with this rental.
