Great house!

5 of 5
This house is great – totally agree with one of the previous reviews that the description advertised definitely doesn’t do it justice. I was hesitant to rent it because I rent a lot of vacation houses and my group typically goes for relatively new houses and I wasn’t too sure what to think when the title said “Historic”. I talked with the homeowner about it and she very accurately described the house to me. We decided to take a chance because “it was only going to be for a few days so how bad could it really be!” That’s the attitude we had going in. I will say that as soon as we walked in, we almost all had the same reaction of “We sure wish that we had this house for the whole week – or more!” It’s huge -- the kitchen is brand new and well-stocked, the back screened-in porch is great and the view is awesome! There are so many little corners to just sit and relax and the entire house is very comfortable. It’s amazingly clean and the neighborhood is great. I didn’t think we’d take advantage of the neighborhood amenities but some of our group actually went fly-fishing, we played lawn bowling, some went golfing, and some went hiking. I’m sure we would’ve taken advantage of more of their amenities if we had stayed longer. There’s a little grocery store just a mile or two away along with a few small restaurants. Melanie was great to work with – and I can definitely be a challenge when renting a vacation home – she was more than willing to answer all our questions and there were many. I could go on and on about this house – that’s how much we all liked it. We would most definitely rent it again if we return to the area.
