I must admit that I had some reservations when I learned that the cabin was located directly adjacent to the owners' property - I took my girlfriend out for a weekend getaway and wanted privacy and seclusion - but my worries were quickly put to rest upon our arrival.
For starters, the cabin faces the Lehigh river and has its own private viewing area in front of the cabin for lounging and taking in the river. The embankment is a bit steep to access the river from the cabin, but the views and quietude are spectacular.
Both Josie and Andrew are very friendly and accommodating. The wood fireplace is a great touch and they offer free firewood which is a huge bonus! My one complaint would be that the wifi signal that reaches the cabin is sketchy at best, but as we wanted to get a bit "off the grid" I didn't particularly mind this limitation. Nevertheless, they could improve the signal if they wanted by purchasing a network extender to give adequate internet access to the cabin.
The cabin itself is cozy, yes, but is quite, well, yes the word for it is "charming," I believe. Hopefully you and yours will be generating your own warmth and good vibes should you visit, but the tasteful settings definitely don't hurt to set the mood!
Just far enough removed from "civilization" to not hear the traffic over the gentle running of the river, I was quite taken with the scene and found it nourishing to the soul. True to the title of this review, this was a little slice of heaven and I give this rental and the owners the highest marks for their wonderful little share!
