                                A little slice of heaven!

                                5 of 5
I must admit that I had some reservations when I learned that the cabin was located directly adjacent to the owners' property - I took my girlfriend out for a weekend getaway and wanted privacy and seclusion - but my worries were quickly put to rest upon our arrival. For starters, the cabin faces the Lehigh river and has its own private viewing area in front of the cabin for lounging and taking in the river. The embankment is a bit steep to access the river from the cabin, but the views and quietude are spectacular. Both Josie and Andrew are very friendly and accommodating. The wood fireplace is a great touch and they offer free firewood which is a huge bonus! My one complaint would be that the wifi signal that reaches the cabin is sketchy at best, but as we wanted to get a bit "off the grid" I didn't particularly mind this limitation. Nevertheless, they could improve the signal if they wanted by purchasing a network extender to give adequate internet access to the cabin. The cabin itself is cozy, yes, but is quite, well, yes the word for it is "charming," I believe. Hopefully you and yours will be generating your own warmth and good vibes should you visit, but the tasteful settings definitely don't hurt to set the mood! Just far enough removed from "civilization" to not hear the traffic over the gentle running of the river, I was quite taken with the scene and found it nourishing to the soul. True to the title of this review, this was a little slice of heaven and I give this rental and the owners the highest marks for their wonderful little share!

                                A perfect weekend getaway!

                                5 of 5
A perfect lake house for a relaxing weekend away of the hustle and bustle of the city (only 1 hour 45 min drive from NYC). The house is beautiful, very well maintained, clean, and spacious- it sleeps 6 adults VERY comfortably (we were 3 couples, each got their own room with a room with a queen size bed, which was perfect). Super market, liqueur store, CVS and a Wawa convenience store are all a 3 min drive away. We also drove 10 min to the nearest Amish Farmers Market on Saturday. The lake is beautiful and feels very private although the swimming beach is just next door (which is perfect for families with kids and wasn't crowded at all). The house has a paddle boat and a row boat for the guests' disposal and they were also in great shape and served us very well. The kitchen is comfortable and well equipped and the back deck with the umbrella covered outside dining table and the large grill made our weekend dining experience even better. Janet (the owner) is super responsive (even late at night on Friday..) and provided great customer service and was very nice to us in general. I'd recommend this vacation house for anybody who wants some peace and quiet, to sit on a lazy chair looking at the lake (amazing sunsets can be seen from the middle of it, if you care to take the boat out ;)) or wants some safe space for the kids to enjoy a bit of nature. I'd also come back in a heartbeat! P.S. Don't forget to bring your own DVDs, and towels (for bathing, washing, hand towels for the bathrooms and kitchen and dish towels too ;))

My family and I (dog included) stayed at this property for a week and had a wonderful time! The house was complete with everything we needed for the week. There were a couple of stormy nights and we were able to watch a few of the movies they have - there's a huge collection of DVDs! The pool table was the selling point for me (i love playing pool) and relaxing in the hot tub after swimming at the lake during the day was wonderful. The lake is about a 5-7 minute drive but is really nicely laid out - there is even a volleyball court nearby. The lifeguard who works there is also really nice and was helpful with directing us to other attractions in the area (like the casino theater - they will bring food to you while in the theater!). Overall, we had a great time and hope to return in the winter to experience a different seasonal setting! I would also like to thank the owners for being so helpful and for renting out this wonderful place. You have done a great job with making it as comfortable and accommodating as possible. Thanks again!
