Absolute best vacation we have ever taken

5 of 5
We only got to stay a couple of days but it was absolutely amazing!!! We stayed in the suite. This place was definitely the cleanest place I have ever stayed in in Panama or the states. Angie is great to help you in anyway and super friendly!! We didn't get to try chef Wes's cooking but we did get to have Chris cater in dinner one night and it was the best food we have ever ordered. We ordered the Lobster and the yellow fin tuna. We really enjoyed taking the kayaks that are provided out one day. This is such a relaxing enjoyable place to come. The beach right outside your door is so nice and clean. If you come to Boca's, Villa Paraiso is definitely the place to stay. It exceeded our expectations!!

What an experience!

5 of 5
This is perfect if you're with the one or ones you love, and you are looking for surreal serenity in a lush tropical setting. Every morning the water off the patio would evoke desires to ice skate more than paddle board as it was ever so glassy. Yet, mischievous us never minded to disturb the mirror still waters by tossing in our kayaks or paddle boards. Our friends the dolphins were playing, and we wanted to say hi. They're most active in the mornings we found. After we cooked lobster tail omelets and ate bananas off our property for breakfast, there was always an excursion available. Snorkeling, jet skiing, beautiful beach combing, chocolate farms to explore, etc. We didn't do everything we could, as some days we were content to lounge in our swimsuits at the house and read and sleep, and kayak and snorkel and etc all day. In the evenings, we enjoyed coming back around sunset and cooking gourmet meals, listening to tunes, and drinking wine while watching the thousands of harmless tiny bats create black specks in front of the beautiful sunset as they race past us out to feast. Many nights, we would enjoy spectacular lightening and thunder storms with our dinner (under a water tight patio roof). There are many fans to keep the place cool. There are comfortable enough furnishings. There are (obvi) beautiful 360's. There is a caring and attentive liaison at the dolphin bay hideaway hotel 3 minutes boat ride away. There is no crime here whatsoever. There are indigenous families rowing past your dock in dugout kayukas every morning and evening. There is a family on the property in case of emergency. Far enough for privacy, but close enough to ensure a feeling of safe well being. If you're down for truly unforgettable, magical experiences, at your own pace and by your own rules, then you will enjoy this. Thank you, Julia, for making such an incredible property, and for allowing us a wondrous week to enjoy it.

Creating Family Memories that Last a Lifetime

5 of 5
Our family travels to Panama each year to visit family who live in Panama. To maximize our time together, we will rent a vacation house where we can stay together, share meals, hang out, and go on outings as a group. We are usually able to find something to fit our needs, but rarely have we had the opportunity to mix family time with the adventure of discovering wild Panama. This house in Gamboa was the perfect retreat for reuniting with our family and getting to show our kids the beauty and excitement of Panama’s rainforest and Canal Zone. The house, in which the owner raised her own family, is arranged perfectly to enable families to spend time hanging out together. We were seven adults and 3 kids and the house fit us fine. The well-stocked kitchen made group efforts to produce family meals a breeze. We enjoyed lounging out on the expansive patio, swimming in the pool, and watching the butterflies and hummingbirds swarm around the flowering trees and the tropical birds – even toucans and parrots – flying overhead. You can even see from the pool deck, if you look closely, the barges passing through the canal. Our kids loved the downstairs area with the pool and ping pong tables, and TV with tons of DVDs. In the evenings we would make dinner and serve it family-style on the large dining room table. Early mornings were the perfect time to explore the nearby hiking trails. We visited Pipeline Road and the new Rainforest Discovery Center and checked out the trails around Gamboa resort, which is right down the street. We visited in August which is in the middle of the rainy season and since we were in the rainforest it did rain. Our solution to this was to spend our mornings which were reliably dry and sunny, exploring Gamboa and using the pool and then in the afternoon after lunch we would head to the beach on the Pacific side to escape the rain. Getting to the InterAmerican Highway from the property and over the canal to the beaches was a breeze. The owner of the property has a “platform” property at Rio Mar which we visited and it was the perfect set up to enjoy the beach and take a shower afterwards to remove the sand for the ride home. We liked the “platform” concept and the beach at Rio Mar so much that we plan to rent it for a few days next time we come to Panama. Both properties are It perfect places to disconnect from work and other stresses of life and reconnect with love ones to create memories that last a lifetime.
