My husband and I just returned from eight blissful days in this cozy house, and we already can't wait to go back. This house is so comfortable, so well-equipped, that we could completely relax, since our needs were so well met. Since it's November, we loved the woodstove's gentle heat. It rained a few times hard enough to hear the patter on the open pine ceiling, and always, we could hear the gentle sound of the waves. We needed a relaxing vacation, and in this house, we certainly got it. Very good beds, wonderful bedding.
The location couldn't be better, secluded in the woods and so close to the beach that even I, with a knee injury, could manage it every day. We only saw a few scattered people, and only at dog-walking times; the other times, we had it all to ourselves. Wonderful beach to walk on, photograph, explore, daydream on.
It's ideally close to everything needed, too - all the shops, restaurants, and galleries of Newport, and the smaller, more casual places of Waldport and Yachats. You'll need a full week - or more! - to really get the most out of this location.
We've been spending a week a year in Newport for years, and have stayed in other places--but now we've found our Newport home for as long as Ralph and Ingrid will let us keep coming!
