I stayed here March, April, May & June of this year with my one-year-old son. The apartment was gorgeous, had everything we needed to feel at home, and it was in the perfect neighborhood.
I don't drive, so I was relieved that it was so easy to get around even though this home is not downtown. It was a 10 minute walk to two different bus stops, and a 20 minute walk to Washington Park (Children's Museum, World Forestry Center, Oregon Zoo, Hoyt Arboretum, International Rose Garden & Japanese Garden), where there was a light rail station. It was also near Pittock Mansion. So much to see and do, and not far from the Alphabet & Pearl Districts for dining & shopping.
The yard was great, my son loved it & had his first ever Easter egg hunt there. It has this lovely view, and because it's up so high there's often fog like in a fairytale, you're truly in the clouds. The apartment always had pretty light in it, even if Portland isn't the sunniest city.
We LOVED Kris, her family, and her dog. They are the best. Some of the nicest people you could ever meet.
I live in Honolulu, I was just traveling around with my son while my husband was deployed, because island fever is a thing. I have been all over the world. Portland was definitely one of my favorite places, and I lucked out when I stayed here. This was like winning a housing lottery. I even had a delivery service bring me organic produce every week, and had an amazing time cooking in that cute little vintage kitchen!
