Made Portland Perfect

5 of 5
The owner Don has added so many nice touches to an already beautiful house. The artwork is wonderful. His restaurant recommendations were spot on, don't miss dining at Lincoln or eating tacos at Por Que No? This house is nicely laid out, with the comfy living room, 1/2 bath, a sitting/guest room and eat-in kitchen on the main floor and two nice sized bedrooms with full bath on the upper floor. Appreciated the AC since the temperatures were unusually hot. My husband would have liked blackout shades in the bedroom, but that is the absolutely only change we would make. The neighborhood is fantastic, with the bakery next door and Ristretto Roasters 2 blocks away, not to mention New Seasons Market a short walk away. There is a barbecue on the back patio and we were able to grill a steak dinner one night and enjoy the backyard. Definitely want to return to Portland, but only if we can stay in Don's house. Couldn't have asked for a nicer, more knowledgeable host, Don is like an ambassador for Portland, and especially his neighborhood.

Great Place for Families

5 of 5
My husband and I stayed here in August of 2014 with our 9 month old son and some friends. The house is very spacious and comfortable. The pictures don't do the yard justice. We enjoyed using the kitchen and having laundry on site. Our son loved all the toys and it was so great to have a high chair and changing pad to use. For a longer trip with a child, this was so much more comfortable than a hotel. Very short drives to Voodoo Donuts, the riverfront, and there's a nice Fred Meyer nearby for groceries. Anywhere we wanted to go was within 20 minutes!

An oasis from stress

5 of 5
Thank you, Debbie for making a stressful time both easy and amazingly relaxing. When we had to deal with the storied possessions of a deceased family member, a group of descendants rented Debbie's lovely riverside home. Not only did she accommodate our needs of delivering two 8x16 POD containers to her driveway, she found us some muscle moving help in the form of her nephews. Thank you, Corey and Stephen. With the help of these young men we were able to finish sorting, shipping, and donating in record time and were then able to relax and enjoy the remained of our week in this lovely home. The home is large with lots of space to spread out. With an upstairs and downstairs seating area. Lots of places to sleep and could have accommodated a much large group of people. Only 2 bathrooms but not a problem for our group of 3. The outside is lovely with a nice deck, where I had breakfast each morning. It has a dock for fishing, although I didn't catch anything I can't blame that on the house. And a nice firepit for an evening of relaxation. The neighborhood was super quit. It is close to Portland and if driving off commuter hours only took us about 20 minutes to get downtown. Commuter hours are another story though, the traffic in Portland is some of the worse I have seen taking upward to 1.5 hours to go to the exact same place. So plan accordingly. I found the atmosphere very enjoyable at this home and choose to set on the back deck and read a book while watching the river rather than go out for dinner in Portland. My only regret is I did not bring my kayak as it would have been fun to paddle around, although Debbie did mention there was rentals nearby. A great vacation getaway spot.
