Thank you, Debbie for making a stressful time both easy and amazingly relaxing. When we had to deal with the storied possessions of a deceased family member, a group of descendants rented Debbie's lovely riverside home. Not only did she accommodate our needs of delivering two 8x16 POD containers to her driveway, she found us some muscle moving help in the form of her nephews. Thank you, Corey and Stephen. With the help of these young men we were able to finish sorting, shipping, and donating in record time and were then able to relax and enjoy the remained of our week in this lovely home.
The home is large with lots of space to spread out. With an upstairs and downstairs seating area. Lots of places to sleep and could have accommodated a much large group of people. Only 2 bathrooms but not a problem for our group of 3. The outside is lovely with a nice deck, where I had breakfast each morning. It has a dock for fishing, although I didn't catch anything I can't blame that on the house. And a nice firepit for an evening of relaxation. The neighborhood was super quit.
It is close to Portland and if driving off commuter hours only took us about 20 minutes to get downtown. Commuter hours are another story though, the traffic in Portland is some of the worse I have seen taking upward to 1.5 hours to go to the exact same place. So plan accordingly.
I found the atmosphere very enjoyable at this home and choose to set on the back deck and read a book while watching the river rather than go out for dinner in Portland. My only regret is I did not bring my kayak as it would have been fun to paddle around, although Debbie did mention there was rentals nearby.
A great vacation getaway spot.
