Great House on a Cliff

5 of 5
Rating Details: I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. I was very happy with the location. The vacation rental was spotless. The property manager was very helpful. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: I LOVED my little house by the sea. Cute inside, stunning views outside. Comfy bed and sofa, tiny but adequate kitchen. (Bar-size 'frig., be aware.) Huge back yard ended at the cliffs, where I could sit in a lawn chair and read or peek over to see the surfers. Way at the end of a long dead-end, so very quiet, if a bit out of the way for returning at night. Staff was helpful, even sending someone out to help me figure out the TV. (I will say that those directions were useless, and there were none for the strange way you had to turn on the shower.) Easy drive from here to the lovely, flat Manzanita beach and charming town. Great stay, to sum up.

Great House in Manzanita

5 of 5
Rating Details: I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. I was more than happy with the location. The vacation rental was very clean. The property manager was very helpful. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We enjoyed our stay at Elk Creek. The house was close to the beach and at the same time had a secluded feel. We would definitely stay here again.

Nice house in great location, needs some fixes

4 of 5
Rating Details: I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. I was very happy with the location. The vacation rental was very clean. The property manager was very helpful. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Wapiti Creek is a nice house in a great location a short walk from a quiet beach. We lucked out and had some REALLY hot weather (90 degrees) for 2 days while we were there. The only drawback to that is that the house has no A/C (understandably), no fans and it got up to almost 90 inside the house until about 10 at night, due to the sun exposure and large windows. The master bedroom got BAKED and was unbearably to sleep in until late at night, which was not convenient for us when the baby needed to sleep in there. However, the property managers were great and found us a fan to use, which helped a little. The homeowners should definitely have fans on-hand for renters to use, in case hot weather strikes. Black-out curtains would also help keep the heat out of the master during the day and would be really nice to have in the summer since the sun comes up so early and goes down so late at night. We also would have appreciated an ice cube tray in the freezer, since although the refrigerator has a water and ice dispenser, it is not hooked up. As it turns out, the last 2 days of our visit brought the normal cold, sacked-in coastal weather. We were excited to take advantage of the wood burning fireplace once the kids were asleep. Unfortunately, once we got the fire going, the smoke quickly filled the house and we had to douse the fire and open all of the doors and windows. We fully expected the smoke detectors to go off, but apparently those weren't working, as none did, even though the house was "foggy" with the smoke. Not being able to use the fireplace was a big disappointment. I felt the property managers should have offered a discount when I brought up the fireplace and other issues, but they did not. If the issues with the house were fixed, I'd stay there again.
