The cottage was so fully equipped that all we needed was some fresh food--fish/meat/veggies/breads to whip up meals (bring foil/plastic wrap/bags if you use them). Great back yard, wonderful front porch, tables and chairs in various places in and out of the charming cottage--and TV/DVD and lots of DVDS for the dark, starry nights. Location was perfect starting point each morning for John Day, the Fossil beds, the Painted Hills. This is not a five star hotel--it's a six star self-catering cottage. A bonus--terrific breakfast in the little town if you do not want to make your own (but those farm fresh eggs beckon).
Directions to the cottage were spot on, Aruna was very responsive via email prior to the visit; everything was better than I anticipated.
We stayed in the smaller of the two houses (one bedroom and a futon in the living room) and a larger family might want to rent both cottages.
Beautiful area of Oregon to explore and return to.
