LOVE this place!

5 of 5
My husband, son and I stayed at the Shack over Easter Weekend. First thing we noticed was how clean it was. The kitchen was fully stocked, pantry had items and there is even a washer and dryer (which came in handy with our little boy who loves to get dirty). The covered back porch is a huge bonus. It was an easy way to shed our wet and sandy duds before entering the house. It was sunny one day and it was super warm back there so we had a back porch picnic in the sunshine. Our son slept in a twin bed upstairs and we used the fold out couch so we could be close to him so he would not be going up and down the stairs at night alone for bathroom etc. There was even a few toys for him to play with. There are fun board games and puzzles too. It was really cold one day we were there and the fireplace did a great job of keeping us warm (HINT: Find the driest wood you can for maximum heat. We were able to buy wood and kindling at Ray's up on the 101). The best thing was how close it was to the beach! Very close to town too. We are going to bring our bikes next time so we can ride into Old Town instead of driving! Thank you for sharing your awesome Shack with us! We will be back for sure!

I want to stay here forever!

5 of 5
This cottage is accurately pictured in the photos provided. It was a pleasure to coordinate my stay with Carolyn. The drive to the cottage is well worth it going through the beautiful picturesque country side. Staying here was like staying with family. The cottage is equipped with all the living essentials for convenience. I love that the property is gated and the cottage is tucked away behind large evergreens providing seclusion and privacy. There is a sign above the sleeping area that say "Rest, Relax, and Rejuvinate".....I completely felt this sense of wellbeing coming home every night. Carolyn was kind and provided emergency flashlights and candle during a storm advisory. Thank you Caroline!!! I will stay here every time I come to Portland.

Exactly what we needed!

5 of 5
We stayed in July 2012. We combined the occasion of a family reunion with my daughter's honeymoon. We got a great deal on the Blue Rose next door. This property was perfect. I had all of my dogs. I was able to host my daughter and grandbaby, my other daughter and her friend, and myself and my husband. The property is clean, the beds are comfortable, and the view is SPECTACULAR! We had wonderful lazy days laying on the deck and cooking in the very comfortable kitchen. Tillamook is close by for excellent cheese and the home is lovely and comfortable. The only thing I would advise is that it's 98 steps to the beach, down a very steep hill and fairly rough terrain, even for seasoned Oregonians.
