Amazing place! Home away from Home!

5 of 5
Quiet, clean and roomie home away from home! This was the perfect rental for our stay in the Portland area. We were looking for a place with a King bed, quiet location and homey feel. We were happy that it had another room for our friends to stay in. From the moment we drove up the driveway and saw the impeccable landscaping to walking in and seeing the comfy couch and fireplace, we knew we made the right decision. Bed was extremely comfortable, bathroom was large and a great shower, kitchen had all the right supplies and appliances. The place was clean, updated and cozy. The hosts (Theresa and Tim) were extremely accommodating with our extra requests. There were plenty of walking trails nearby through very nice neighborhoods. Portland was a short drive away, wineries are close and shopping and great restaurants nearby. I would highly recommend this place for someone looking for a nice home stay instead of a hotel. Five stars!!!

This is truly a wonderful home!

5 of 5
We looked online at hundreds of homes in Lincoln City before finally agreeing on Pacific View. It was everything we expected and more! Our main concern when we booked this home was its proximity to the beach and neither the listing nor the reviews were able to 100% satisfy our concerns prior to arrival. Although the beach may appear far away in the pictures, it really isn't. It's about 75 yards down a paved street and then another 75 yards through a well-maintained pathway. The walk back uphill to the house is little more difficult (simply because 150 yards uphill is more rigorous than 150 yards downhill). The beach access at that particular location is very private too, unlike the access at Road's End Park (not very private), which is about a half mile to the north. The proximity to the casino was also a plus. The house is less than five years old and for the most part it still has that "new construction" smell. It is beautiful and the pictures accurately portray the home. The fireplace is wood-burning not gas, which apparently confused some previous guests based on their reviews. The good news is that Safeway sells firewood right down the street. The kitchen was fantastic and had plenty of counter space. We cooked seafood and steaks at the home on two occasions and all the appliances worked perfectly. The double-oven and dishwasher are both Bosch. The owners spent some extra money on high-end fixtures and appliances. The outside grill is a Weber and has a gas line connected to it, so you'll never need to worry about propane. The water in the hot tub was a little cloudy, but all the jets worked. Our only real complaint is that some of the furniture in the main living areas could use some updating. The beds were extremely comfortable and had pillow-top mattresses. We never needed extra garbage bags, soap or toiletries. There was plenty of everything. There are a lot of stairs, but we knew that going in. The home is well insulated and the windows are top notch. Anyone who gives this home a bad review should seriously re-assess their expectations. This is a great home! A++

Perfect Spring Break Getaway!!

5 of 5
Our group of eleven was very comfortable and we greatly enjoyed spending Spring break vacation at the Beach Castle! The house was even nicer than expected, with many extra touches (lighting, decor, speakers, etc.), and plenty of space to spread out. The kitchen was well-stocked and we found everything we needed to cook some great meals. Everyone loved the deck and the grill was clean and easy to use. We spent a lot of time outdoors, enjoying the view and the huge yard with fire pit, and of course the hot tub on the deck! We did notice that three of the four beds had extra firm mattresses---not my preference, but one of the other couples with us enjoyed this. The location is perfect---close to everything, an easy walk to the beach, and the owner was extremely accommodating and gracious with our requests, and answered all questions quickly. I've rented two other houses at Road's End and this has been my favorite by far---clean and well maintained, and you can tell that the owner has invested in the ambiance. It is a beautiful house, and we had an experience that exceeded everyone's expectations---in fact, we are already comparing calendars to figure out when we might be able to return!!
