FANTASTIC RIVERSIDE HOME

5 of 5
The property was a fantastic place on the riverside. It had great views of the water and across to the other side; appearing more like a lake. The water direction changed from flowing one way to the other and was sometimes shrouded in mist. The house itself was vast with large windows in the living room and two of the bedrooms which allowed for some wonderful views. We took some fantastic photographs of sunrises with reflections in the water. This was a great place to stay with everything you could think of being provided. There was even several teas and coffees. The home was well maintained and clean. Heather and Mark were friendly and even provided us with a map so we could find our way around Ottawa and the surrounding area which was very kind of them. Heather provided us with good directions from the airport which were a godsend as coming from England we would have got lost. My sister and father who travelled with me were blown away by the size of the rooms and the spectacular views across the water, and the large amount of outside seating areas. We were in Canada to trace our family tree on our fathers side and staying here enabled us to see a lot of the area where our grandfather would have lived which was great. We would highly recommend it if you want to stay in a really lovely area in a huge property where you can just relax and enjoy the fantastic views. Ottawa is not far away and there is a countryside drive into it which is worth travelling on. You can cross bridges to the other side of the river and spend time in the French speaking part of Canada.

INVITING PROPERTY WITH ALL THE COMFORTS OF HOME.

4 of 5
We stayed a week in this property and the pride of ownership really shows. All of the amenities are spot on. This property is clean, lovingly-maintained and has everything you might find/need in your own home. The owner is also very attentive and considerate. We loved the location - close enough to downtown but in a quiet neighbourhood - that said, a car is definitely required. Having lived in Ottawa for a decade, staying at this property made it feel like we were really in the city again. The only drawback - the layout (one bedroom upstairs and one downstairs) is a bit challenging for small children.

A DELIGHTFUL STAY ON THE LAKE!

5 of 5
We were fortunate enough to spend a long weekend in this beautiful lakefront property. We were looking for a location close to Ottawa to host a family reunion, so we rented both houses and were absolutely delighted with our stay. Debbie and Allan greeted us warmly upon arrival, and gave us a tour of the houses and facilities. The houses were bright, tastefully furnished, and very well-equipped. Debbie had thought of all the little details! We were very happy to make use of the fully-equipped kitchen. The description said to "just bring your groceries", and even then there was a well-stocked pantry for the things we forgot to bring (maple syrup for the pancakes, and paprika for the stuffed peppers!) The location was absolutely beautiful, and we spent our time on the lake. The lovely seating areas and decks with fire pits made for beautiful evenings roasting s'mores. We did not go out further to explore the area, as we were just happy to soak in the tranquility of the area, and enjoyed kayaking and canoeing on the lake. There was good fishing as well! The small house is on two levels, and the big house is on three levels, so we got a lot of exercise on the stairs! There are also a lot of stairs down to the lake, with a seating area up top, a deck halfway down (both have fire pits), and a deck just above the dock area. Be careful if it's raining, the stairs can be very slippery when wet. Last but not least, it was a real pleasure to deal with Debbie. From our first communication with her, she was responsive, helpful, and did not hesitate to answer all our questions and concerns. She and Allan were also there to see us off. We really appreciated their hospitality. If you are looking for a vacation rental in the Ottawa area, we cannot recommend their place enough. We would love to return here again and again. Thank you very much Debbie and Allan! We really loved our stay!!
