For our annual wine trip, our group has a few requirements: good kitchen, plenty of room to socialize and easy access to wineries. We also prefer for each of the four couples to have their own bathroom - it makes getting ready before a day of wine tasting much easier. The Aylesbury Manor had all of this and more.
First, the house has character. It feels like a home as opposed to a hotel room. Second, it was well stocked with some of the smaller things that are overlooked by many rental homes. As to those original requirements: the kitchen is well stocked and laid out, we had no problem preparing dinners for 8 people each night; the living room and fireplace were a comfortable area to sit around and socialize; and the location is an easy walk to restaurants and shops in NOTL, and still well located for NOTL wineries and only a short drive to the Bench.
On another note, the town began construction on a road near the house just before our stay. The owner learned of this, contacted the city for details on how long it would last and what hours they'd be working, and then offered us the option of another property for our stay. They did all of this from their vacation. We stuck with Aylesbury Manor and there was no problem with noise at all, but it says something that the owners were proactive in making sure our stay was pleasant.
I highly recommend the house and the owners. Our group was already talking about booking the house again.
