Lovely place to stay!

5 of 5
This cottage was perfect. Lovely view of the river. We saw bald eagles herons and egrets. Nice location to go to Cedar Point for the coasters and Magee Marsh for birding. Jimmy Buffett's Margaritaville is not too far and the cottage is fairly close to Lake Erie, and some nice lighthouses, so it's a great spot to set out on daytrips. The cottage itself has two nice bedrooms and a couch. It's light and airy. Good stove, fridge and microwave, grills. They even have bikes. The owners are nice people and good to rent from. The cottage is well kept up and very clean. This was our second time renting from the Bishops for a weekend - it will not be our last! We enjoyed it a great deal.

Peaceful retreat

5 of 5
Our week at the cottage was so restful, a wonderful way for our family of 4 to spend out 1st official family vacation! We loved the quiet setting. Our kids enjoyed playing in the yard and being able to ride their bike around the property. The property was clean and well maintained. LOVED having a washer/dryer on site--a must when you have a 4 and 7 yr old!! It was easy to get to any points of interest, yet when you arrived "home" at the end of the day it was so nice to feel away from it all. We loved our day at Cedar Point. Soak City was great. And we fell in love with Kelleys Island--their winery is so cute and they serve excellent food! Chris and MaryLou are excellent hosts, they even went so far as to come pick us up when we had car trouble to get us back to the cottage and helped us with a mechanic!! What a Godsend when you know no one in the area! We hope to be back for a visit again someday. If you stay here with young kids, we'd recommend bringing a few toys or small bikes for them to play. The only nearby restaurant is a biker bar, but they have a nice patio to sit on near the water when you have your meal.

A Wonderful Place to Stay

4 of 5
We drove from Philadelphia, PA to this Fremont cottage and it was an absolute delight to stay here. We are siblings who grew up in this area as kids and this was our reunion trip to see friends and family, since it had been 5 years since our last visit. Your cottage was just perfect in accommodating 4 adults. It was exactly as described and very clean and neat. It had all the amenities you could need and the 2 twin beds were very comfortable. There really was not very much to complain about, but felt it should be mentioned as a suggestion: - there was no storage or shelf space in the bathroom. Which made it a bit tricky in the morning, trying to balance hair brushes, toothpaste and coffee cups. Some "on the wall shelving" or a little table would do wonders, so guests can have a place to put their morning stuff on! - The bedroom with the queen size bed, had no dressers or storage. Again, maybe some wall shelving or hooks can help with where to put clothes, jewerly, etc. I would highly recommend this property for friends or family to utilize in lieu of staying in a hotel room, especially if staying for more than a few days. It was a great place and we really enjoyed our stay. The notebook of restaurants and attractions was a great help in determining what to do and where to go, if not familiar with the area. Thank you
