                          RELAXING FAMILY GET-AWAY

                          5 of 5
My family and I spent the fourth of July weekend at Eaglewood Manor and Garden Farm and absolutely enjoyed every minute! The back patio was a respite for all of us to gather and enjoy each others' company, as well as roomy enough to allow solitude when someone wanted to sit and read. We were free from the distractions of jobs and home life; having this time reminded us how unique and wonderful it is to be with each other! We were just a hop, skip and a jump from the company of some really cool animals: ducks, pigs, chickens, cats and dogs. Each of the animals were so much fun! Our favorite was feeding the cutie pigs named Magnum and Tillie. My family also enjoyed the pond were we fished. It was great to see my grandfather casting away and reeling in some great bass and crappy. Donna and Gary were very helpful with anything we needed. They gave us directions to local fireworks and pointed us in the right direction whenever we wanted to explore the area. They checked in on us to make sure everything was going ok and walked us around the beauty of the gardens. This permafarm is something special and I can't wait to see how it continues to grow! If you are a flower/garden/nursery lover, this is an awesome place to find plants! We went to 4 different nurseries and found plants for our own gardens that we have never found anywhere else. The town of Chagrin Falls is very quaint and has a lot of little shops that were neat to discover. However, our favorite part was just being at the house, enjoying each others' company and basking in the beauty of the nature that was around us at the farm. It truly became a home away from home for my family for the weekend and we cannot thank Donna and Gary enough for the lovely time we had there!

GOLDEN BEAR LODGE WAS A FUN GETAWAY!

                          5 of 5
The Golden Bear Lodge was a wonderful venue to celebrate my son's 30th birthday, or for that matter, any vacation or event. We had friends and family ranging in age from 7-70 and we were never at a loss for things to do. Right from the moment of contacting Jesse to rent the lodge, he made the process easy and was always available by phone or email to answer my questions. He was pleasant and eager to please to make our weekend the best! He made it clear what their rental expectations were in order to provide us with the best possible facility. Upon entering the lodge, we were stunned by the beauty of the lodge and the surrounding area. Every area of the lodge was spotless and very well maintained. The kitchen was very well-equipped - and that's coming from a bunch of Italians who like to cook:) There was enough seating for everyone to sit at the same table and have a meal. The deck itself made it easy to enjoy everyone's company whether you were on the deck or in the kitchen. The deck furniture was aesthetically pleasing, comfortable, and seated 8 of us very well. The cook-friendly grill was used and we noticed we were low on propane. I made a call to Jesse and the problem was taken care of easily and efficiently. The grill was of a large capacity and easy to use. The game room/video room was every kid's dream and adult's dream too! Big and small spent hours down there on the games, playing pool, shooting baskets or just watching TV. There was plenty of room to sprawl out and enjoy the sounds of the lights, bells, and whistles! Every bedroom was a great size and accommodated all 20 of us beyond our satisfaction. The mattresses were very, very comfortable and the bedding and linens were of a high quality. Everyone enjoyed the pond! We had lots of expert fishermen among us who loved to try to catch the big one! Many hours of that weekend were spent at the pond, whether it was actually fishing or as a spectator to see who could catch the big one. Ten adults from our group went to Battlezone in Mansfield, OH for paintballing. They had a fantastic time and couldn't stop talking about it. My husband and son have done paintballing at other facilities and said this was the best one to which they had been. I would highly recommend the lodge to anyone who wants to stay in a beautiful lodge that is highly appointed and well-equipped. It is a wonderful place to create many new memories.

COZY HOME - GREAT FOR GROUPS!

                          4 of 5
Rented this house a few months back when I was in the area for a family reunion. We stayed there with a few others also in from out of town. Is it a 5 star hotel? No. But….It is spacious and clean and it only took 24 hours and we were all rather charmed with this old country place. Parts of the home (mainly the ground floor) have been nicely renovated and cleaned up more than others. I spoke to the owner at length about some of issues that we found (also noted in a previous review) and Kathleen welcomed the feedback and was quick to address these problems. She also enlightened me to the history of the house and how it’s been a proud work in progress for them and that upgrades are ongoing. The bottom line is, this IS a very old farmhouse and if you like old houses and the character that comes with them, you’ll enjoy this place. For a group vacation such as ours, we really did appreciate having a home to rent over separate hotel rooms. It allowed family from distant places to hang out, utilize a common kitchen and we had plenty of room to stretch out and relax between the house, the porches and the yard. I may be back in Ohio for a wedding next year. If so, I would definitely look into this house again.
