DARLING, IMMACULATE, LUXURIOUS GETAWAY!!!!

5 of 5
I searched all over Ohio for a cabin to take my husband for a birthday surprise, and couldn't find lovelier cabins than those built and maintained with the tasteful, high standards of those in "Amish Country". The Skyview Cottage (2) provided the perfect atmosphere for relaxation with double-sided, cozy gas fireplace, the huge sunken Jacuzzi, cathedral ceilings, the top notch bed and furniture. We were amazed at the high quality and eye for detail everywhere - including a Bosch dishwasher and a coffee grinder. We discovered treats and comforts at every turn. The cinnamon rolls and home made bread in the fridge were fabulous, and such a nice touch to our last minute retreat. And of course, every corner was immaculate. Marilyn was so gracious and accommodating. With drizzly weather we didn't get outside to enjoy the delightful porch swing, fire ring and back deck. If I wanted total privacy, I would choose the Woodland Cottage (1), but the Skyview is SO adorable inside and was perfect for this time. It was the ideal escape for my husband's birthday!

Great place for a large family to stay.

5 of 5
Great house with everything you need. We have 6 children ages 1 to 14 and wanted to spend some time in the Amish community. We had driven up from Texas and had been traveling for about a week when we got there. After staying in multiple hotels, it was nice to be in a house. It felt like home. Even our little ones found toys and games to play with and didn't want to leave. It felt much bigger than it looked in the pictures. Plenty of sleeping space. We were able to do a little laundry so didn't have to pack as much. Unfortunately we missed Julie when she came by, so we didn't get a chance to meet her, but everything was just as she told us so it was a smooth check-in and out. We will be back.

Lovely, relaxing for a big group!

4 of 5
Our group of 12 was celebrating a 50 yr nursing school reunion. Mary (owner) was great at handling our questions and making our stay pleasant both before and during our visit. The property is simply beautiful - set back in the woods. away from the sights and sounds of all but nature - even though it is only minutes from town, if you need anything at all! I cannot speak for anyone who might reserve only one room or two. But for a large group it was perfect to spread out, relax and not bother anyone, as with a normal hotel or B+B! This IS a house in the woods that is not lived in on a daily basis. Therefore, be aware that there MAY be the occasional critter or spider! (All normal!) And there is the minor annoyance of dampness and some mildew smell, especially in the lower level. Overall the house was very clean and well-kept. It's not new or "fancy", but was quaint and decorated, in every nook and cranny, with items in line with the owner's taste. We enjoyed checking everything out! It was perfect for our group and several of our party said they wished we could come back again. Thanks, Mary!
