Perfect Holiday Home Away from Home

5 of 5
Villa La Jolla is a home away from home in every sense of the meaning. No detail has been overlooked in the design, layout and amenities of this beautiful villa. Set amidst a breaktaking combination of gardens including the fabulous courtyard for BBQing, plus sand beach and coral coastline boasting breathtaking views the pride of ownership was quite evident and great care was taken to preserve the natural vegetation throughout the property. We took lovely strolls down the beach in both directions, snorkelled and kayaked right out front, we would rinse off in the outdoor shower and take a refreshing dip in the oversized pool. As the evening progressed we would turn on the spa/hot tub section of the pool and watch the sunset complete with cocktail, the outdoor lighting only enhances the natural beauty of this setting. We never wanted for anything at La Jolla. We are seasoned holiday renters and find many places lack properly outfitted kitchens.... the gourmet kitchen at La Jolla contains everything one needs to cook and entertain although admittedly we enjoyed the meals Fiza had prepared for us on many nights. The mattresses and bedding are wonderfully comfortable and the spacious master ensuite an absolute treat, plus it was so refreshing to take a wake up swim straight from the master bedroom each morning. When we needed supplies we simply walked a short distance to the general store/bottle shop/petrol/ATM. We stayed for 9 days and honestly never wanted to leave! We would highly recommend Villa La Jolla to anyone!

Beautiful house, easy location

We had a fabulous family holiday at the Sapphire. There was plenty of room for my family. The pool was well used and the other facilities were great. Sapphire had everything we needed. It is within walking distance of Anchorage and First Landing however I would particularly recommend the Marina for meals and chilling over a drink or two. The staff are lovely and it is a great place to watch the sun set.

Truly Fantastic

If you want to have an overwater bungalow in Bora Bora and you do not stay here or at its sister property next door you are missing out on the best bargain in all of French Polynesia. This is a large, recently renovated overwater bungalow originally owned by Marlon Brando that is located on the northwest coast of Bora Bora (about 4 miles north of Vaitape) in an absolutely beautiful location. I do not even know where to begin. Large living room that transitions into a dining area and then a kitchen---a big kitchen. Full-size refrigerator, washing machine. incredibly modern four (or was it five) glass stove top, double sink, blender, coffee machine, microwave, toaster oven, toaster and all the china, silverware, glasses, pots and pans, etc. that you could want. If I could come up with a complaint it would be that the chef knives need to be a little sharper and there should be a bread knife. That's the best I can do. Two bedrooms. The master has a queen (or is it king) size bed and is air conditioned (The only room in the house that is air conditioned, but we froze to death before we turned the air conditioning way down.). The second bedroom has two twin beds and a REALLY good fan. The bathroom has double sinks and a huge shower with both a rain head and a hand held shower. And then there is the porch. Huge. A table and four chairs. Two lounge chairs. A day bed. A dock with a ladder that can be lowered so that you walk into the lagoon (which offers good snorkeling) and an outdoor shower for when you come out of the salt water. Oh, and a propane gas grill!!!! In the living room is a TV with a dvd for movies (selection quite limited but you certainly could bring your own dvds) and music. On the porch there were fishing rods (we left a nice selection of lures as our gift to the house), snorkels, masks and fins and some great tubes for just hanging out on the water. Missing. There should be some rope to tie off the tubes to the dock although they did have short tethers. No kayaks. We cannot recommend this property too highly!!!!! It is fabulous. For 1/3 what the resorts want for an overwater bungalow you get twice what they offer. Pick up groceries at Chin Lee's or Super U for breakfast and snacks (and whatever other meals you want to fix) and definitely have a meal or three at the Bora Bora Y
