Perfection

5 of 5
Simply amazing. This house was perfect for our vacation. It is sophisticated, yet comfortable. You can't beat the view. And the beach was just gorgeous and completely secluded. It was our own private paradise! I loved that the house was a few miles from town, providing a quiet place to relax and unwind. Penny made the planning process super easy and responded quickly to all of our questions. David & Macri were so sweet and took great care of us while we were there. They made us feel so welcome! We felt so safe at the house, despite it being an open air style house (which allowed us to soak in the views from every room!). I highly recommend this house to anyone looking for a relaxing beach vacation!

What a great house!

5 of 5
Casa Rubia could not have been better! The description was spot on, exactly as expected. The property was VERY well maintained and clean, not a smidgen of dust to be seen. Yvette, the manager was so great and helpful with everything. The staff Cruz, Ramiro, Sergio, Anna (cook) Macarena and oh dear, I can't remember the other women's name but all were fabulous. We had all meals at the house and each was lovely. Breakfast (usually something with eggs) and lunch were served buffet style; while dinner was plated and served at the large lighted table. Our group of 13 (6 adults and 7 kids) enjoyed being "out of the action" of town. Several went to Carizalillo Beach for surfing lessons each day. The ladies had a shopping afternoon. Each trip into town was in the house suburban or in a taxi (too many to fit in one auto), but they would stay with us until we were ready to head back to the house. I felt very comfortable and safe, both at the house and in town. I have travelled extensively through the country of Mexico and this house/staff/management are in the top 5 of what I have experienced. Stay at Casa Rubia, you will not regret a single moment.

Casa Colibri

5 of 5
Casa Colibri is a wonderful Oaxacan retreat. It is very comfortable and has wonderful, relaxing views from the back of the house. Both my wife and I spend a lot of time writing, reading, and walking and for people like us the house is ideal. Also, it is just a short drive (or bus or cab ride) to food stores, Oaxaca’s famous restaurants, and activities at the Zocalo. Another attraction is that the neighbors are mostly English-speakers with very interesting backgrounds and willing to go out of their way to make one feel welcome. We have stayed at Casa Colibri for extended periods during the last three years and plan to return this year. We walk our talk.
