An oasis in the city

4 of 5
After a cold, long winter we were excited to be escaping for 10 days. This was our first time renting a home and it was a wonderful experience. Cherie your information and quick response to any enquiries really eased our minds. The home is exactly as portrayed in the pictures, spotlessly clean and I have to say the swimming pool was the highlight for us! The beautiful lush greenery with the parrots chattering in the background was like an oasis from the heat of Puerto Escondido. The house is located very centrally so it is so easy to get to the various areas of town with the grocery store (Super Che) a few blocks and even the wonderful local market within walking distance. There is some noise from vehicles as it is a busy area but you can't be in the hub of things without hearing some traffic. With that said the house is very private so although you can hear movement you can't see it nor can you be seen. The housekeeper is lovely, our Spanish is weak making it a little tricky communicating but Spanish is the native language so that is our problem and not a reflection of the property. In addition there is typically an on site manger who speaks English but he happened to be away during our stay. Cherie called to welcome us and looked after any little quires we had open arrival. Hope to be able to return one day!

Wonderful stay - can't wait to come back!

5 of 5
We stayed here for a few weeks in November/December 2014 with our 1 year old daughter. We loved the house from the moment we opened the front door! It is a typical Mexican style house in a quiet, gated community of Puerto Escondido. The house has enough amenities from home to make it comfortable but still has an authentic Mexican feel so you don't think you're at a resort or still stateside. We enjoyed using the plunge pool for a quick dip! There is the shared pool as well which has a small kids pool so that was great for us. The community is very friendly and the location is perfect as you are close to everything but just far enough away from the usual noise disturbances (ie barking dogs, roosters, impromptu fiestas). You are a few minutes walk down to Playa Manzanillo which is a very nice beach. You are very close to the Rinconada which has lots of restaurants and bars. Lois is a great host and always available if there are any issues and quick to respond by email. We loved our stay at this beautiful house and would come back in a heartbeat!

Fabulous!

5 of 5
Last week we stayed at this property (Casa Nikki) and it was absolutely fabulous! The entire vacation was beyond our expectations. The house was very much like a home - comfortable and charming ... and the setting was breathtaking. Ema prepared a few delicious meals for us and Pablo kept the pool and garden in lovely shape. Puerto Escondido is the best of authentic Mexico - not overrun with tourists and there were no high rises cluttering the scenery. We'll be back!
