Good house, terrific terrace in large garden.

5 of 5
If you want a taste of the real Mexican life in a village, while being still near the delights the city of Oaxaca has to offer, this is the place! The house is big and clean, Customer service was excellent; quick and very kind. We would recommend this house to anyone; we felt safe at all times. The terrace is fantastic, with view of the mountains, starry nights and beautiful sunrise. Hope to come back soon, it's all there: hospitable and helpful Mexicans, many museums, markets and churches and delicious food .

Perfection. Location, Peace, Beauty, Service.

5 of 5
Our family used three of the units - The Aguacate Casita, the Villa del Sol and the additional Acroiris room. All three were immaculate, with comfortable beds and and lovely decor. The entire villa is cleaned daily, but not intrusively. I stayed on after my family left, and as a woman alone in her 60's felt completely safe. I did like the extra sense of security I felt over renting an apartment. The location is ideal. Everything I needed was within walking distance. I took classes at Español Interactivo and it was a 10 minute walk. I would also recommend the school, for those who want to learn by speaking. The teachers have great patience for those like me who sound as if they are speaking with marbles in their mouths. The owner of the villa, Mary Jane, made our stay absolutely perfect. I am already planning a return in October.

Casa Colibri

5 of 5
Casa Colibri is a wonderful Oaxacan retreat. It is very comfortable and has wonderful, relaxing views from the back of the house. Both my wife and I spend a lot of time writing, reading, and walking and for people like us the house is ideal. Also, it is just a short drive (or bus or cab ride) to food stores, Oaxaca’s famous restaurants, and activities at the Zocalo. Another attraction is that the neighbors are mostly English-speakers with very interesting backgrounds and willing to go out of their way to make one feel welcome. We have stayed at Casa Colibri for extended periods during the last three years and plan to return this year. We walk our talk.
