TWO INCREDIBLE MONTHS AT XANO XANO

5 of 5
It is wonderful to have had a two month stay at Xano Xano and not be able to say enough good things about both the hosts and the accommodation. Without any question it is the most beautiful place where we have ever had the pleasure of staying. Our hosts, Penny and Victor, could not have been more helpful. Whatever rating scale one uses our stay was off the charts, it was that positive. We were there for the two full months of February and March of 2015. From the time we entered the courtyard for the first time and had our initial view of the beautiful landscaping, the infinity pool and the outdoor living room and the two separate living units banked over each other and covered with vines and flowers we fell in love with Xano Xano. When we entered what was to be our living area we found it to be very attractively decorated and, we discovered, comfortably furnished, with very tasteful art and pottery throughout. We really appreciated the two ceiling to floor bookshelves full of excellent literature and popular reading materials. Because we like to do a lot of our own cooking we found that the kitchen had everything we could possibly need in terms of cutlery, dishes, full size fridge, stove, microwave etc and many of the basic and other supplies used in preparing meals. We chose not to rent a car and instead used the community taxi (collectivo) to travel in and out of Oaxaca on a regular basis. Thanks to the clever design of Xano, Xano we had three outdoor areas that were part of our exclusive living area. We took full advantage of the back patio, the front balcony, and the very attractive outdoor pallapa type living room with its multiple works of arts, crafts, and several different comfortable seating areas fronted by the, always available, lovely infinity pool. Penny and Victor were a fountain of helpful information and advice. We followed their suggestions to the letter and never went wrong. What wonderful, kind and thoughtful hosts they were. We very much enjoyed staying in the small town of San Agustin Etla. Despite our inability to speak Spanish we have always found Mexicans friendly and very hospitable. We always felt totally safe and secure there as well as in Oaxaca Should our annual travels in our retirement years again include Mexico we will certainly want to see if Xano Xano is available for at least part of our trip. Leaving such great hosts and beautiful place was not easy.

The Best!

5 of 5
Oaxaca is the loveliest and most interesting city in Mexico. Wonderful people, great ruins, fabulous art and excellent food. It's a great city for walking and exploring, and for visiting the surrounding villages and towns. This lovely Jalatlaco house is well equipped, very comfortable and in an excellent location. The owner is friendly and very helpful, always ready to make his guests comfortable. We hope to return soon!

A wonderful week in Oaxaca

5 of 5
6 of us from all over the U.S. met for an unforgettable week in Oaxaca. I had been to Oaxaca before and wanted to share it with my friends. I found this amazing house online and it became for all of us a perfect island of peace and beauty in this wonderful city. After spending a day exploring the city or the neighboring villages, it was great to come back to this house to rest, relax and enjoy each other's company. The photos don't do justice to the spaciousness and the beauty of this house. It's very well maintained, with many plants and trees in the central courtyard, surrounded by comfortable parlors on the ground floor and spacious bedrooms on the second. The layout gives everyone as much privacy as we could want, with plenty of common space where we could gather and enjoy being together. The kitchen is a gem, very open and inviting, with everything we could want for preparing our own meals. (But almost always we went out to eat, because the food in Oaxaca is amazing!) The location is perfect, right in the heart of the historic district, within walking distance of everything, but very quiet and separate from the hustle and bustle. We reluctantly left at the end of the week, but were already planning our next trip and look forward to staying here again.
