TWO INCREDIBLE MONTHS AT XANO XANO

5 of 5
It is wonderful to have had a two month stay at Xano Xano and not be able to say enough good things about both the hosts and the accommodation. Without any question it is the most beautiful place where we have ever had the pleasure of staying. Our hosts, Penny and Victor, could not have been more helpful. Whatever rating scale one uses our stay was off the charts, it was that positive. We were there for the two full months of February and March of 2015. From the time we entered the courtyard for the first time and had our initial view of the beautiful landscaping, the infinity pool and the outdoor living room and the two separate living units banked over each other and covered with vines and flowers we fell in love with Xano Xano. When we entered what was to be our living area we found it to be very attractively decorated and, we discovered, comfortably furnished, with very tasteful art and pottery throughout. We really appreciated the two ceiling to floor bookshelves full of excellent literature and popular reading materials. Because we like to do a lot of our own cooking we found that the kitchen had everything we could possibly need in terms of cutlery, dishes, full size fridge, stove, microwave etc and many of the basic and other supplies used in preparing meals. We chose not to rent a car and instead used the community taxi (collectivo) to travel in and out of Oaxaca on a regular basis. Thanks to the clever design of Xano, Xano we had three outdoor areas that were part of our exclusive living area. We took full advantage of the back patio, the front balcony, and the very attractive outdoor pallapa type living room with its multiple works of arts, crafts, and several different comfortable seating areas fronted by the, always available, lovely infinity pool. Penny and Victor were a fountain of helpful information and advice. We followed their suggestions to the letter and never went wrong. What wonderful, kind and thoughtful hosts they were. We very much enjoyed staying in the small town of San Agustin Etla. Despite our inability to speak Spanish we have always found Mexicans friendly and very hospitable. We always felt totally safe and secure there as well as in Oaxaca Should our annual travels in our retirement years again include Mexico we will certainly want to see if Xano Xano is available for at least part of our trip. Leaving such great hosts and beautiful place was not easy.

Fabulous house - surely the best in Oaxaca!!

5 of 5
This house has to be seen to be believed. It is gorgeous - beautifully decorated, well laid out, spacious yet very private. Also very well located within walking distance of almost everything in Oaxaca. The staff are wonderful, helpful, friendly, and eager to please. There is every possible amenity, including a small fitness room, and heated floors in the bathroom we used! The only thing missing was a microwave, which would have been nice to heat up coffee or leftovers.

Exceptional week in Oaxaca!

5 of 5
We had an eclectic group of 8 descend upon Casa Raab for Oaxaca's fabulous week - Dia del los Muertos and were welcomed with open arms by Rebecca and her team. Everyone in our group is grateful for the Casa Raab comfy accommodations and fabuloso support in getting to know more about the region. Every word of the description and photos provided are accurate and understated for the experience we enjoyed - read it and believe it! Every morning we awoke to a bountiful breakfast and we made arrangements for dinners that reflected the local cuisine and were delicious. Every bedroom was an inspiration of art, textile and comfort, everyone enjoyed the privacy of their rooms. We were a busy group, traveling the region everyday, so we didn't spend as much time as we would have liked enjoying Casa Raab and San Pablo . . . but we will return and plan to enjoy more "down time" on this lovely property and community. Owner Rebecca is an exceptional, knowledgable local who gently guided our experience and managed our energetic group. This home and setting is for the casual traveler, which is a good thing! If there are any ratings below excellent for Casa Raab, these folks didn't read the accurate listing. Fresh towels, refreshing pool, plenty of space, abundant food and beverage, expert info on local artists & history, friendly animals and lots of love punctuated our week at Casa Raab. Rebecca's mission for animal care is legendary, appreciated and everyone in our group was moved by her commitment to caring for animals and the environment. Many thanks, mil gracias for our groups' welcome at Casa Raab, we all feel like part of the family!
