TOP 3 TRIPS OF MY LIFE

5 of 5
Where to start? I stayed with my girlfriend here for a week and it was absolutely magical. The property is a dream, a gorgeous house of minimalist design, with great spaces and elegantly decorated. We spent a couple of lazy days lounging by the pool and being very well treated by the amazing cook and her husband, who works as a jack-of-all-trades, and even spent some nights in watching movies in the TV room. When we did manage to leave the house (believe me, it's not that easy), Oaxaca was everything we dreamed of and more. The city center is lovely, its streets filled with beautiful colonial architecture and great art galleries for modern tastes. And the food, OH MY GOD THE FOOD! Oaxaca has to be one of the best places to eat in all of Mexico, if not the world. We certainly came back to New York with a few extra lbs despite all the walking we did. The nightlife is cool yet not crazy, which was just what we wanted. We also took several trips outside the city, including to a place on the mountains with natural springs (Hiervelagua), an artisanal paper-making operation, a factory-cum-museum, and a family-owned alebrije business complete with a tour of the entire process for making the beautiful artwork. Overall, one of the best trips of both our lives. If I had the money, I'd buy a house in Oaxaca and spend a couple of months out of the years there (actually, I'd buy THIS house); it really is one of those places. We honestly couldn't get enough. The only difficult part of the entire experience, actually, was leaving, but I will most definitely be coming back... -Andres

We do not have enough words to express how wonderful this property is. You will find an oasis of tropical plants, flowers and art by local craftsmen. The service by the owners and their staff was outstanding in every way. We would recommend this villa without reservation to anyone who asks. Thank you Ms. Penny and Mr. Victor. :-) It was wonderful!!! L and N

THE BEST!

5 of 5
Oaxaca is the loveliest and most interesting city in Mexico. Wonderful people, great ruins, fabulous art and excellent food. It's a great city for walking and exploring, and for visiting the surrounding villages and towns. This lovely Jalatlaco house is well equipped, very comfortable and in an excellent location. The owner is friendly and very helpful, always ready to make his guests comfortable. We hope to return soon!
