We enjoyed this spacious, family home

4 of 5
For the Canada Day long weekend, we opted for the Seascape Retreat near Whitepoint Resort. The house is nice. It is spacious and well-maintained by the owners. It is also extremely private as there are no visible or audible neighbours, which makes for a pleasant, relaxing stay. We were two families sharing this home, which meant that there were two toddlers (18 months) running around. Thankfully, the owners have put up a gate to the downstairs portion of the home so we were able to relax knowing they wouldn't fall down a flight of stairs. As far as I know, there wasn't a highchair or playpen available (to be honest, I can't remember if I even asked as we always bring our own travel playpen and highchair with us). We never met the owners because we made other arrangements for picking up the keys but they were quick to respond to e-mails so that wasn't an issue for us. In terms of activities nearby, there is Whitepoint resort, which is a lot of fun for families. You can buy a day pass for $9 and it gives you access to all of the facilities and events going on. We also visited the quaint town of Liverpool, which is about a 10-15 minute drive away. There are a handful of cute shops and cafes and, of course, beautiful homes that will take your breath away. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone who is looking to "get away from it all" and breath in the crisp, ocean air.

Simply Awesome

5 of 5
When you first enter the house you are taken in by the spectacular ocean view through each of the windows and sliders facing the ocean. It's the type of view where you can just sit and take it in all day. The house is nicely furnished, well maintained and comes with everything you would need for a comfortable stay. At night relaxing on the enclosed porch with the sliders open and listening to the waves is the perfect end to each day. If your looking for a place to get away, unplug and relax look no further. One of the great things about the area is how un-touresty it is. No crowds, no traffic, no souvenir shops. A nice and useful touch that the owner Jeff provided was a list of things to see/do in the area. This was very helpful in deciding a days activities. The nearby beaches (Carter's and the Kejimkujik Seaside Park) are a great afternoon activity. If you go to Kejimkujik bring a jacket (even if its 80 degrees out), it is a spectacular beach. We have already recommended this to friends and hopefully we'll have a chance to visit again some day.
