Skyview is absolutely amazing! If you think it looks breath taking in the pictures, wait until you arrive! The minute we opened the doors into the large entry way, we were all amazed! Skyview itself, it very well taken care of and the owners show great pride in this home. It is the perfect place to host family and friends and has ample usable space, large decks, large kitchen (with all amenities), common area and the bedrooms are a very generous size. The master bedroom is a home all on it's own! We have our own family summer home and have also rented many vacation homes over the years, I must say that Skyview is now one of our very favorites. The owners are very friendly and helpful and as mentioned earlier, show great pride in Skyview. We visited for 4 days over new years, and look very much forward to coming back in the summer to take advantage of the large deck space and Crescent beach, which is a beautiful beach only minutes awayout door activities. I highly reccomend Skyview and the pleasure it brings! J. Tyler Moar Halifax N.S.

Wonderful stay - beautiful house

5 of 5
We were 2 adults and 5 children staying here for the week. We had a wonderful time. The house is beautiful and was very comfortable. The view from the front deck is spectular and a wonderful place to enjoy a cup of coffee in the morning and wine in the evening. There were many places for everyone to gather as a group and also to find corners of privacy. The house is wonderfully secluded, but yet very conveniently located to Cheticamp when we wanted to venture out. We took advantage of the kayaks and explored the area right in front of the house. We saw seals and other wildlife. The walk up the hill behind the house has breathtaking views of the Saint Lawrence Bay. The blueberries were out when we were there and so the kids had fun gathering them and I made a few pies in the well stocked kitchen. We scavenged for sea glass along the rocky shore below the house and had much success finding many treasured pieces. One morning we were greeted with a bald eagle perched on the outbuilding next to the house. We enjoyed the Zodiac whale watching tour, recommended by George and Marianne. We got to see a 70 foot fin whale while we were out. We also spent time up in Cape Breton Highlands NP, saw moose, took hikes, and enjoyed the scenery. Cheticamp is a beautiful little town with a european feel which we enjoyed. We were able to bike there from the house. We ate dinners mostly in at the house, but the few times we ventured out, we enjoyed the local fare. We would definitely rent this place again. In fact, our kids are constantly asking when we're going to go back. They loved it so much. The basement/den area was perfect for them to hang out in and well-equipped for movies/games, etc. They enjoyed having their own space down there. Before we got there Marianne made sure we had everything we needed and included lots of helpful information in her welcome packet. Thank you so much for a wonderful stay. I was just creating my photo book from our vacation and was reminded of what wonderful time we had. We look forward to sometime staying again!

Words of a Delighted Temporary Resident

5 of 5
I had the pleasure of staying at this cottage in the fall, when the forested hills of the opposite lakeshore were heavily decked in colour and when evening fires in the glass-fronted woodstove easily extended the warmth of days beyond the sunsets. Roughly a century old at its core, but neatly equipped with life's modern conveniences, this cottage provides both rustic charm and satisfying comfort. The kayaking experience on Folly Lake and the wicked fish-n-chips at nearby Masstown Market are not to be missed! Stay here and you'll want to move here.
