We rented the house for 1 week in August. We were 2 couples traveling to Cape Breton for the first time.
The house was very charming, clean and comfortable. The kitchen was fully equipped to prepare meals. The owner’s Roger and Sandra were very helpful and generous throughout our stay. They greeted us with a bottle of wine and some homemade jam. The house is directly located off of Cabot Trail, a short walk to the beach and approximately an hour from to the Highlands Park.
If you enjoy hiking their property offers several hours of great bush trails right out the back door.
Roger suggested a ceilidh at a tea house near by. They happen twice a week. We attended one, it was fantastic Celtic music performed by local artists (fiddlers).
Lobster season ended in July. We wanted fresh lobsters so we bought some from a local restaurant in Baddeck.
If you are driving to Cape Breton, we recommend bringing a cooler and doing groceries before getting to Cape Breton. We did our groceries in Antigonish, it’s cheaper than in Cape Breton.
We highly recommend this rental and would definitely go back!
