Our only concerns before arrival were the mid- September weather and the feeling that it might be too remote. The weather was a bit cool, but very nice and the location did not feel isolated at all. The owner was responsive easy to deal with and the cottage was excellent- right on the water and with all of the conveniences that we needed. Driving to eat at a restaurant or to go grocery shopping was easy- the nearby towns of Bridgewater and Liverpool fulfill that need and there is an excellent small café a short drive from the cottage. There are excellent beaches nearby and the Seaside Adjunct of Kejimkuijk National Park is excellent for hiking. We enjoyed the tides, the rocks, and a spectacular moonrise at sunset that even the locals remarked on. As we were departing, we were able to talk with the housecleaner and the maintenance man and understood why the cottage looks just like the pictures. In short, the cottage met all of our expectations.
And...try to make one of the Saturday morning pancake breakfasts at one of the nearby fire stations. It is good, inexpensive, and offers a chance to talk with locals.
