Comfy & cozy home away from home

5 of 5
We traveled to Cape Breton Island for the Celtic Colours International Festival. We loved staying at Laverne & Gordon's lovely Riverside Cottage. It is a sweet, homey, comfortable cottage with a beautiful view out any of its many windows. We enjoyed watching the Harlequin ducks from the riverside room. We also spotted eagles during our stay. There was plenty of room for our party of four adults. It was so nice being close to Baddeck but also being out in the country where was very quiet and peaceful. Laverne and Gordon made us feel welcomed with a fire burning in the stove and a visit when we arrived. They wanted to make sure we were comfortable and that we had everything we needed. This part of God's creation is so beautiful. The fall colors were at their peak - breathtaking. Thank you Laverne and Gordon. We hope to return someday.

Magical

5 of 5
Spent four nights here with my husband and daughter, and we could not have been more thrilled. The apartment was immaculate, extremely comfortable, nicely furnished, and well appointed with everything we could have possibly needed (and then some). We found a whole drawer full of games in excellent condition. The hosts were so kind and helpful, emailing important details prior to our arrival, loaning guidebooks and maps during our stay, and offering up anything we might need, in addition to plenty of information about the area. Nova Scotia is truly magical, and Indian Brook is the perfect place from which to see it. The community is full of delightful people - artists, mostly. Most of Cape Breton Island is an easy drive. Right in the immediate area we found a gorgeous easy hike to a waterfall. We had a spectacular time and only wished we could have stayed longer. Hope to go back one day soon.

Superlative home & property

5 of 5
This house provides a perfect haven for experiencing this gem of a town, which bisects the BraDor Lakes & the Atlantic. The house itself is exquisite; it combines the unique charm of a century home with modern amenities. The house is tastefully decorated and manages to be both comfortable & elegant. Our party found this house to be a substantial component of our enjoyment of the town & area(which have a lot to offer)Michele was a gracious hostess who gave us fantastic travel tips. Don't miss out on a Bra Dor sail with local skipper, Gordon. Absolutely a highlight for us. A shout out to Ann Marie whose thoughtful advice was greatly beneficial to our side excursions. The house offers numerous panoramic Atlantic vstas that are east coast iconic. The views are incredible and postcard quality. The town blends charm, hospitality & modern convenience. We loved the wing night @ the town pub. We enjoyed using the well appointed immaculate, gourmet kitchen-we felt we were on the set of a cooking show-seriously! The coastal trail is gorgeous, & is located @ the end of the driveway. Battery Park has numerous short, but visually rewarding trails with stunning ocean views. My husband & son found the kayak rental @ BraDor Lakes Inn fairly or iced & well maintained watercraft. Isle Madame is a trip back in time to an Acadian fishing culture , & was a worthwhile side trip. The citizens of St Peter's are so warm & friendly. Don't miss this wonderful part of CB!
