two water junkies found a gem!!

5 of 5
My old lady and I are big ocean junkies and love everything there is to do. I booked this wonderful beauty, not knowing what to expect. When we arrived we were taken away by the beauty of the entire compound. It was big enough for us to lounge around like a king and queen for two days. The photos dont do it justice but you are about 50 feet from the water!! the have a gorgeous back patio area ( you also have your own private patio) and one of the best things is that they have a room filled with kayaks and noodles and snorkels and anything you can imagine. we have all of our own gear but for someone who wants to try it out, its perfect. I cannot wait to come back for my birthday this year!!

Romantic Respite

These two casitas are perfect for a single person or a couple, although hey could accommodate another person. The sounds of the waves and birds soothe you to sleep and in the morning sunshine, you can make a cup of coffee (all provisions are in the kitchenette) and take 3 steps onto the sand to saunter along the miles-long beach, picking up shells, and barely seeing another person. The friendly, knowledgeable American owners are on-site, and available for information and suggestions, but you have complete privacy and total quiet. This was the first place on our 11 day trip to San Carlos, Alamos and Bahia Kino where we could flush the toilet paper down the toilet. The downstairs unit is very small, but everything you need is there (sink, refrigerator, utensils and dishes). We love the Talavera tile and open waterfall shower and the bathroom amenities provided. The upstairs unit is larger, with a huge veranda where you can sit out and watch the sunsets and sip a glass of wine. Both units are furnished in beautiful, tasteful Mexican style and very functional. We used the kayaks provided and also went snorkeling. The water was clear and warm (in November), but not too many fish. Restaurants nearby...we love walking to El Pargo Rojo for awesome fresh fish, and Casablanca for breakfasts. This was our second visit to La Tortuga, and we definitely will be returning.
