Our family of 4, 2 adults and 2 children rented this property wishing to enjoy Wilmington for what it has to offer: historic journeys, the Battleship North Carolina, as well as local family. Immediately we were struck by just how central this place was to just about everything in Wilmington. Now Wilmington isn't that big of a city, but just about everything we wanted was within a short walk's distance: museums, restaurants etc. A very affordable, tasty, fresh seafood meal awaits you across the street at the Shuckin' Shack.
We were also struck by the tasteful but higher end type decor. Most rentals are not so well appointed, and we were happy to partake in such a beautiful property.
We wanted to specifically comment on the owner's excellent customer service. The place has electronic keypad type locks on the doors, and one day the lock just died, I guess the battery ran out. We called the owner who lives 3+ hours away in Raleigh NC and he had his local handyman show up in less than an hour. We in the meantime were having a nice time in one of the nearby restaurants, and this handyman worked a long time to open the lock. We were offered a free night at one of the local hotels by the owner as well as partial refund, until the handyman managed to finally disassemble the lock and gave us a copy of the backup key. We were refunded some money, but impressed with his kind and prompt attentiveness.
Overall excellent property. If you want to enjoy Wilmington NC in style, especially if you have a family, this is a great place from which to base your operations. We couldn't have been happier.
