We Loved This Cabin For A Weekend Getaway

5 of 5
My wife and I had the fortune of a free weekend with the kids at her mother's home. We looked for a cabin in proximity and this was about an hour from her in Asheville. We wanted a nice cabin to just relax. Other renters have mentioned lack of amenities in the immediate area which was true, but we knew that and were quite okay with it. Yes the driveway was steep, but her 4X4 Toyota Highlander made it without a problem, no snow or ice present of course. We even drove to the top of the neighborhood. You must see the house being built that has a horse barn, to die for views. As for the house itself, I couldn't have been more pleased. It was tastefully decorated with sheetrock walls and heavy wood accents. True log cabins are too rustic for my wife. The open concept living/dining and kitchen areas are immaculate and feed right onto the large front porch. The numerous glassed doors allow easy access from living areas to the porch which has nice patio furniture. Don't forget the Weber grill, we cooked steaks our last night there. The front porch views were perfectly adequate for us. Not expansive, but taking out just a few trees at the top of the driveway would make it even better. The kitchen is nicely appointed. My wife immediately noticed the soft close drawers. The granite covered island facing the front of the home was a very nice touch. The very large fireplace and mantle is great with a roaring fire. The dining area has a 4 person bar height table which was comfortable. The Master Suite is large with a king bed, as well as a large master bath with private water closet, dual sinks and large walk-in-closet. This is where we saw the wasps?, they were real although no one was stung. We killed 10 in total, almost all in the bathroomm. The master opens onto the rear porch which has a nice jacuzzi tub which we loved. We didn't use the upper area but it did have the single bed in the loft and a nice second bedroom with private bath. The internet wasn't working during our visit, I wonder if my wife paid extra for that ;) Overall, we were very pleased with our stay and have already recommended it to friends. If you want Dollywood down the street, look elsewhere. If you want a nice home to relax and enjoy the home you couldn't ask for more.

Very happy with the setting, cabin and hot tub.

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Serenity Falls. The cabin is off of a dead-end road so there are almost no traffic sounds. The driveway has an interesting curve just before a fairly steep incline, but we were able to navigate it without 4-wheel drive. The cabin was very comfortable and clean. No central air or heating but the propane gas heater easily kept us warm. The hot tub was great - especially as it was right beside the rushing stream. One warning - you had better like cats and dogs if you stay here (we do) because there were two of each from a neighboring house that kept us company whenever we were outside! We would recommend this cabin to anyone who likes seclusion in nature.

Beautiful Cabin - Wonderful Renters - Driveway STEEP!

5 of 5
We spent 5 nights in this wonderful cabin with two small children, 1 teenager and two daschunds. The cabin was more beautiful than the pictures portray. Lots of toys for the kids, an extra bathroom downstairs we didn't expect, and even a potty for my daughter who was potty training! Paul and Anne were so accomodating as our minivan didn't make it up the hill and Paul was constantly driving us up and down the drive as we needed. (THANK YOU SO MUCH!) The walk down the driveway was quite steep as was going up - we will definitely bring the 4 wheel drive next time. Anne is quite the seamstress and the cabin is adorned with all of her beautiful work. We ended up ordering a complete set of Placemats, napkins, napkin rings and coasters, and she even threw in a few extras we weren't expecting. These are truly genuine people that care about your stay. Their home is close by, yet far enough for you to feel secluded. There are no other homes in site and you really feel "away from it all". We definitely recommend this cabin! We are sorry to say we won't be back this year since it was already booked the week of our vacation- but we do plan to come back again!
