Beautiful and Comfy Sea Sight Heights

5 of 5
Great property, well equipped for a family stay. Clean, very comfortable, well cared for! Super close to the beach! The sea shore theme ads even more charm to it! We had a great stay!

Great week at Waves Village

5 of 5
My husband & I spent a week at Waves Village in June 2011, we stayed in the Kiteboarders Paradise unit. It was a very comfortable condo and plenty big for the two of us (bigger than our house actually). Bed was comfortable, shower was very nice. Kitchen had everything we needed and then some. Really enjoy watching sunsets and the kiteboarders from the balcony. Nice having our own hot tub (used that almost every night). Pool was also nice. I don't think it was heated but the days were warm enough that it stayed pretty warm. Great location, Rodanthe/Waves is so quiet compared to the Kitty Hawk/Kills Devil area. Nice to drive to Hatteras Lighthouse and the Wright Brothers Memorial. About a 10 minute walk to the beach but we didn't mind being on the sound at all, probably less sand there anyways. Forbes Gifts was our favorite shop on the property, great chocolates! Nick was very helpful throughout the booking process and leading up to our trip; he returned my calls/e-mails promptly. We aren't kiteboarders but that was never an issue. We did rent a kayak from next door. Nice to have so many amenities so close. Our only complaint was that the condo wasn't as clean as we had hoped/expected. I think someone with a dog had stayed last because there was quite a bit of hair on the floor. One the 1st night only 1 of the 3 beds had sheets we deemed clean enough. We washed a set the next morning and then it was fine but I'd check that out first thing. We had 3 beds to chose from but others might not be so lucky. That issue aside, I'd definitely stay here again if we are ever on the Outer Banks again. It was one of the most relaxing vacations we've ever taken!

Everything we wanted and more!

5 of 5
We had a wonderful time at Reel Fun and would whole-heartedly recommend to anyone looking for a well-equipped and clean vacation home that just has that little extra something to make it feel like a home away from home. The views are great. If anyone is hesitant because it looks over a campground....don't be! The ocean and sound views are spectacular and the owner even provides binoculars for watching the dolphins and kite surfing action. We actually had family staying in one of the condos in the full ocean-facing building in Resort Rodanthe, and we actually preferred our view to theirs. Plus our building had an elevator, and theirs did not which was a big plus. Also, our deck/balcony was very private (more so than theirs), and we loved sitting out there in the mornings and having our breakfast. The owner was very easy to work with and got back to every email I sent in a timely manner. She sent great information on the area and couldn't be more helpful. She even sent an email to me the day after we checked in to make sure we were settled in well. The beach was great. The kids loved it. We have been vacationing in the Outer Banks for the past seven years, and the beach was one of the best we have been on. It was wide and uncrowded. We loved the beach chairs, umbrella and beach cart provided, and the deck walk to the beach was wonderful especially with our two-year-old twins. There were a lot of fun and interesting things to do, but we especially loved checking out the kiteboarders from the new kiteboarding school and shopping center right down the street. Perhaps next year we'll even take a lesson ourselves! We were also very happy with the WIFI and the linens that were provided. Plus there was plenty of room for our family of five. If there was any drawback, it was that the closest big grocery store was about 25 mins. away, and the dryer took quite a long time, but these things in no way diminished how much we enjoyed our stay and Reel Fun will be the first place we would choose to book the next time we come to Rodanthe.
