Great Vacation

4 of 5
We loved your Bald Head Island escape! Location of the villa was perfect for easy beach access and club access. The bikes gave the kids freedom to explore and the golf carts enabled fun and easy island navigation. The villa was laid out well and was bright and sunny. Having beach towels and chairs for us made packing a lot easier...thanks for that! The villa was clean and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. I would recommend connecting early with the Nature Conservancy as we missed a turtle nest excavation near the villa where two baby turtles were discovered. Also, bringing food over in a large cooler worked out great as transportation from the ferry is easy with door to door service.

Best Reunion Ever

5 of 5
Our family (my husband and I , 6 kids and 17 grandchildren) so look forward to our reunions because we are scattered in 6 different states and getting everyone together doesn't happen easily. I was a little concerned with planning this last get together because we now have lots of teenagers (14) who are a little harder to entertain than the younger children but this house and it's location did it. The beach was so private that we had no worries about them disturbing others as they rode and surfed the huge waves. Then at night we hardly saw them as they kept busy with the pool, the sauna, the ping pong table, and the pool table. As for the adults the beach was perfect for long walks both day and evening and the house left nothing to be desired ( well equipped kitchen, enough beds for all, and extremely clean). We couldn't get over the fact that even though the house is not "on the beach" when sitting on the decks or even looking out the windows it felt like we were. On the day of departure the term I heard over and over was "Best reunion ever". Thank you Mike and Suzanne for the use of your beautiful home for our family reunion.

great vacation

5 of 5
The villa was clean and spacious, there were 8 of us and we had plenty of room. Having a bathroom in every bedroom was great. The views from the deck of the surrounding area were beautiful. Behind the villa was a small pond, which housed many turtles, they were fun to watch. The frogs at night were very loud, but you could not hear them when you were inside. We rented the golf cart, which came in handy, it was great not having to carry all of our belongings. The beach is very small especially at high tide, I suggest getting there early to get a spot. I would also suggest shopping at walmart in shallotte which is only a 15 minute drive, the prices at the grocery stores in the area were very high and extremely crowded on the weekend. There isn't a whole lot to do on the island. We went to Myrtle Beach a few times. It is easy to get to and about a 30 minute drive, lots to do there. We loved Ocean Isle perfect family vacation!
