This home was equipped with a chest of family-friendly games that we enjoyed to help spend some good time with the kids at night. The kitchen was very well equipped and even had a Kitchen Aid mixer, which my wife promptly used to bake some home-made cookies! The house was well set up, had plenty of TVs, cable/satellite boxes and fast WiFi. We came from Tucson, AZ and are used to 4G cell phone connectivity which also wasn't a problem out there. The neighborhood is restricted to residents and registered guests only so we also enjoyed this to be a little more private than some other HomeAway properties we've been to in the past. The Yacht Club beach area was small, but nice for a quick stroll and even had a regata to watch the week we were there. The house was clean and had sufficient general amenities (sheets, towels, etc.). The only thing that was a bit annoying was the fact that there were no paper towels and a small amount of Toilet Paper in the house when we arrived. HOWEVER, to the owner's CREDIT, he DID WARN of this possibility and did make it clear in our instructions about the home once we asked for instructions on gaining access to the house. I also liked the owner's method of allowing access to the property keys using a key lock box at the property.... We've had others mail keys to us, which is not reliable enough for me. If I had a complaint I would recommend the spider webs and small spiders (nothing dangerous or real ugly) be cleaned up before a renter's arrival. Of course, it was the East Coast and it was the end of the Summer with a lot of rain, so spiders should have been expected. But, a little whack with the broom and a few wipes over the windows and they would have been much less obvious going in and out of the house's deck doorways. This is NOT enough of an issue to keep us away in the future. If you have a fear of bugs or spiders this is NOT a problem for you, it's just the only thing I could come up with for possible improvement. Thanks for providing a nice home with a great price for such a location! We wish we had scheduled more time to relax there, but we did have a good time. If you're heading to this area/property, you HAVE to go to the Wright Brothers Museum, Bodie Island (great beach), Cape Hatteras, Jockey Ridge, Roanoke Island, etc. Get the latest version of the visitor's guide in a basket in the house (or at the local Food Lion entrance) and you'll get all the details and addresses to add to your itinerary!
