Summer Shade Inn is a marvelous place to relax.

5 of 5
Our family enjoyed a most relaxing week at the Summer Shade Inn on Stillwater Creek. The house is amazing. The multiple decks surrounding the house provided a variety of areas to relax, have conversations, and enjoy the sun. We had a couple of Rainey days during our stay - the home includes foosball, air hockey, ping pong, a Wii Gaming System, Direct TV, Netflix, Pool, and board games for indoor entertainment. Both Stillwater and Lizard Creeks were nearly private waters for most of the week - we rarely saw other boats in the waters surrounding the Inn until after noon on Friday. Access to boat lifts for both our boat and jet skis was a welcome bonus. The available pedal boat, paddle boats, kayaks, skis, wake boards, tubes, life jackets, and fishing gear were much appreciated. Though we spent the majority of our time in the waters surrounding both Stillwater and Lizard Creeks, Lake Gaston provides unlimited opportuities for boating, site seeing, fishing and other water related activities. We enjoyed easy access to fuel for our boats, a full service marina, grocery stores and restaurants. A variety of local restaurants provided both great food and live entertainment. Our family is already in the planning stages for our next visit to the Summer Shade Inn in the fall. We have stayed in the Stillwater Subdivision during past visits to Lake Gaston and continue to enjoy the quiet comfort of this family orientated neighborhood. Thank-you to the Kremer and Small Families for providing us with the opportunity to enjoy their home for our Summer Vacation. Richard

Perfect Lake House

5 of 5
This place was amazing. Traveling with a college lacrosse team and staff, I am often disappointed with the reality of the places we end up staying at. Not the case here. The house was even better than we imagined with plenty of space and "distractions" for our large group... and the lake was breathtaking in the mornings. Michael was very accommodating and easy to communicate with. Our stay seriously couldn't have gone better. Would highly recommend this place if you are looking for a place to entertain large gatherings of family, or for a "retreat" event. Definitely a place for memories to be made! One suggestion for those traveling with larger groups... if you are preparing meals at the house, note that there is only a 4 burner cooktop with 2 large and 2 small burners in the kitchen, so it may be an advantage for you to bring an extra dual burner hotplate or two if needed. Other than that, the two ovens, two dishwashers, microwave and all the kitchen necessities you'll need are there. By far, one of the better stocked homes I have rented over the years, but should you need anything extra, the local grocer is just a couple minutes away.

What a Place! What a View! We want to go back!

5 of 5
Beautiful, Gorgeous, Fabulous, Amazing, Relaxing.... Just a few descriptive words for Landover Lodge on Lake Norman We had our annual sibling family vacation here the first week of February. It was an absolutely wonderful week. The house, the view, the owner, all contributed to a perfect vacation. The minute you walk through the front door of this amazing home you can't help but say, Wow! The beautiful woodwork, the fireplace wall, the floor to ceiling windows, the kitchen, the unbelievable view.....What a first impression. We immediately fell in love with it and we knew that this treasured family time was going to be great and it was. My husband had to undergo an unplanned surgery near the end of our stay and even though he was released from the hospital the next day he was not able to travel the 9 hour trip home until the next Wednesday. Teresa who was so accommodating during our planned stay, allowed us to stay until he could travel. It meant that she had to rearrange her cleaning lady etc as she did have guests coming on Friday. What a place to recover from a surgery. We were thrilled. I love to take pictures so I was in my glory. When I got home, I couldn't wait to make a Memory Book, one for each of us. A lifetime memory of an absolutely wonderful week at Landover Lodge on Lake Norman. Our thanks again to Teresa for meeting our every need in more ways than one. We can't wait to go back.
