Hiking ladies love it here!

5 of 5
Our second visit to The Highlands to hike the beautiful waterfall trails in the area did not disappoint. The same as last year, the Lakeside Cottage fit our needs to a perfect T. Four ladies had plenty of elbow room to relax after our hikes, enjoy Happy Hours on the deck with beautiful weather. The kitchen had everything we needed for our gourmet meals every morning and night. We can't wait to come again next year; perhaps sooner! Love it here!

Found the best place to relax

5 of 5
Since 2001 my family and I have rented large vacation homes around the country to hold our reunions. This Chateau I think is going be be my all time favorite. The floor design of house and location of the property give you the feeling that you are relaxing in a Swiss lodge. The privacy inside and out added much to the overall comfort. All ages levels in our group from baby to seniors found the area offering many interesting entertainments and amusements. We are all hoping we will get a chance to share another experience here in the future.

Paradise Found

5 of 5
It is so rare that you can experience something that is far beyond your expectations. Stoneybrook is exactly that. The house and property are beautiful and lovingly cared for. They truly have thought of everything to make your stay complete. Going out to the pavilion has become our new catch phrase meaning time to relax. It is well stocked with firewood and kindling and if you use all of that there is more in the garage. All we had to do was light it our first night and we had a wonderful fire. And having the outside speakers you can listen to your own music. Beware though, it is so peaceful that the sounds of the birds and the creek make it difficult to interrupt natures music. My wife and sister spent hours walking the property and noting all of the beautiful plants and flowers. Elmer stopped by one day and gave them an informative tour and told them they could have cuttings of some of the plants. Talk about making their day!! It never feels like you are renting a place but more like you have been invited to stay with friends. The kitchen has everything you need but food. Nice Washer and dryer, soap etc. We just spent a week at Stoneybrook and missed it the minute we left but we will return. If you are looking for a place to just get away or are planning to visit Asheville this is the place to stay. Make sure to take the road up to the Pisgah Inn on the Blue Ridge Parkway for a meal and sit a spell in their rockers. We did not get to meet Ruby but Elmer told us better than I could eversay it " just consider this your house in the mountains" And that is exactly how you feel about Stoneybrook. Please treat it kindly until we can get back. Thanks Elmer & Ruby.
