I Love This Place!

5 of 5
This Beautiful Log Home is in a quiet spot in the Smokey Mountains situated at the end of a long gravel road. The surrounding grounds are neat and well kept and makes the property really stand out as you drive towards it. We really enjoyed our time here, as the house is extremely comfortable, and private. It has it's own spring water, and two water heaters, and two AC units so we had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. I enjoyed waking up each morning and looking out of my bedroom to the Bass pond, and then sitting out on the Beautiful deck area to have my morning coffee and enjoy the peaceful climate. The weather was perfect! we watched a Hummingbird come to feed from the bird feeder then took a walk down in the meadow to take photos of the many flowers that were growing there. We would definitely recommend this as a Holiday retreat, and we are looking forward to returning here as soon as we can.

Beautiful sunsets on a shaded porch!

5 of 5
This was the fourth time we stayed here. My wife and I have rented other mountain homes in the NC mountains but this is the only house we have rented more than once. We are planning a trip back to the King Chalet this fall. The driveway is easy, The house sits on a ridgeline that looks to the West/NW toward Tennessee. Some of the peaks in the view are in TN. The ridge is the highest populated ridge in the Murphy area at about 2800 feet. Local adventure attractions are within an hour drive in any direction and antique & gift shopping is 10 minutes away in downtown Murphy. There is so much to do, we never get bored. Nora is an excellent host who is always on the spot. During one summer visit the AC broke down in the morning. We went hiking that day and by the time we returned the AC was fixed, and that was on a Saturday! Don't worry, the AC unit has since been replaced. If you are a birdwatcher you'll love this place. Cardinals, finches, humming birds, etc. I even spotted a rare cockaded redheaded woodpecker.

Great Location

5 of 5
Beautiful views from the deck and amazing mountain sunsets await you. We have never seen so many stars at night and were lucky enough to be there during a meteor shower. The cabin location is perfect for exploring the area. It is only 6 min. to the GA border with Cooper Vogel State Park and DeSoto Falls. Less than an hour to Nantahala Gorge and white water rafting and a little over an hour to the Smoky Mountains National Park. It was easy driving to anything and a pleasure to do so with the beautiful views that surround you at every turn. The Cabin has everything you need and you will feel at home the minute you walk in the door. We never wanted to leave and can't wait to return.
